  1. Umm how exactly are fruit juice and sports drinks considered unhealthy? Edit: Same thing with coffee, but diet coke is ok?
  2. I'd really like to try one out with a racing sim. I think the current gen ones are more suited to things like racing or flight sims(least till they go wireless).
  3. Well if he's going for a new build he should go skylake if possible. I think it was like 30 bucks more than haswell for an i3 when i was planning mine a few months ago. And i can vouch for the 960,got one paired with my 4690k(don't ask)great little card.
  4. Yea it isn't the best match but if you intend to upgrade its fine. Got a friend with an i3 6100 and a 970 and he hasn't found a reason to upgrade. It might be holding back the 970 a little but it still holds 60 in everything we play.
  5. I guess oc made a big difference on it,mine was sitting at stock and couldn't get 30fps stable in bf3. Back on topic. The I3 wont even really bottleneck a 970. Its a really solid cpu, don't let the core count fool you.
  6. Yea i had a q6600...never again... I'm sure it was great in its time but it can't hold up now.
  7. Edit: I didn't look at the ebay link but if it looks good to you go with it.
  8. If you can find a used 980 in good condition, preferably one you can test, go with it. If not the 970 isn't bad.
  9. Would pretty much have to be. If all else fails check to make sure the standoffs are in right(don't know if it could cause that but might as well) but with a new board it is almost certainly the psu. Could be that it doesn't have quite enough wattage but it should be fine. If its still in warranty(it should be) rma it.
  10. Well might as well jump in here. 4690k and a gtx960...so yea. HDD as a boot drive to boot(pun intended)
  11. 1. The 1080 isn't going to be all that much better than the 980ti. 2. You don't need an i7 to push a 980ti.
  12. Haven't seen that one yet, looks pretty cool. Wish they would drop it again with mx blues.
  13. Well for a low budget you can get something like a quickfire rapid for about 70USD or a rapid-i for about 100usd. You could also look at Ducky , If you want something really simple you could get a pok3r (a little less than tenkeyless but really nice keyboards) As far as simple goes you cant really get more simple than the quickfire rapid, matte black case and only one logo on the back side behind the esc key. Built like a tank and is really well priced. Not sure what this converts to in NZD but that's my reccomendation. Also i haven't seen a wireless mech keyboard but i think i heard about someone making one.
  14. The make and model of the power supply are much more important than the rating. Do you remember who made it?
  15. I'd say go with a 4460 or even an i3,Fx processors just cant handle gaming like they used to. An i5 or even an i3 will perform better than pretty much any fx cpu in most tasks. For example an fx6300 was bottlenecking my gtx 960. Not in most games but in enough i noticed. While a friend im in ts with most nights just got an i3 and a 970 and has yet to find anything it struggles with. Including the games the fx was slowing down in.
  16. I've never really understood the ESRB. You can be old enough to drive and get a job,but they don't think you should be allowed to play the last of us?
  17. You aren't going to find any decent fans for under $5 120mm or 80mm. 80mm fans will be much louder and worse at cooling than 120mm as well. May i ask what you want them for?
  18. If you have any sponsors it would look nice.
  19. Looks amazing, i still liked the red idea better but this is a close second. You should have some vinyl cut for the side(like a logo or something), i think it would add a little more flare. Maybe a stripe.
  20. Are people still developing it? I heard about it a few days ago but i didn't know if it was still being worked on.
  21. I just got a snowball ice for 45 new on amazon, the ice only has one mode.
  22. Could probably be a good thing, the guard isn't full time right? I would really think it over and research it first but if it's for you go for it.
  23. Probably my 4690k. I sure hope the 1070 isn't a complete fail,will probably take that spot.
  24. Read to the bottom of the review " Some things about this unit are done as well as anything else I've seen. Then, the marketing guys played the numbers game and decided to call it a 500 watt unit. It's not a 500 watt unit. It just isn't." And when that psu goes because it couldn't keep up with its own specs it could very likely take components with it. Say some kid saves for months and finally gets enough to build a pc. Boots up a game and a few minutes later his psu quits and possibly other components. Then not only is he out a psu but if it fried something like the board or gpu he has no way of replacing them.
