  1. Is it true that if we install something globally, we do not need to care about the current folder we are in? To put it in a more specific way, lets say that I run this command: npm install -g. I knew it is a global installation of npm, so does it matter whether the folder I was currently in was root folder? or any other folder? Is it that as long as we have -g at the end of it, it will always be installed into root folder? Sorry for newbie question. Thanks.

@Sauron no, not that extreme. as in a cost of a laptop CPU + how much does it take to make the aluminum body + how much does the screen cost, + how much does all the LED costs etc
  3. i wonder what is the material cost of those 2017/2018 macbook pros.

deduct everything else, the R and D process, the design process, just how much does the material in this macbook pro cost.

hopefully someone can get a rough calculation and make a youtube video out of it.

So you mean production costs, without r&d. In that case it's probably closer to 500-1000$ depending on the model. It's hard to measure because we don't really know how much apple pays for cpus and other parts, they certainly get a much better deal than someone looking to buy a single part.

You also have to consider the fact that often time both the material and finished product (body of the mac book made from aluminum for example) would be bought in bulk, reducing per item cost.
