You Canadians are lucky. ??? How I wish there’s a Cannabis emoji since there’s already an emoji for the middle finger.

@BlueChinchillaEatingDorito Haha, yeahhh. The smell is something I'm not looking forward to either. That, and the idiots that come of it. Luckily most people when high on cannabis are easily....dispatched.
@AntiTrust Tell me about it! I suggested it to a friend and he's already made $75k. My buddies cousin has made over $200k.

@dizmo its crazy some of these stocks have shot up 1000% or more. My finance professor told me Im just lucky, but what does he know (lol)
-
@dizmo I only smoked weed twice in my life at the moment back in college and I think it's hypocritical that something that is more addicting and deadly like cigarette and alcohol is allowed as long as someone is 18 but not pot which will only gives a high. Besides, a person drunk in alcohol is more likely to exhibit violent behavior (which I have seen a lot) than someone high because of a blunt (which I haven't seen). Also, the purified components of marijuana which is TCH and CBD are quite beneficial especially as palliative treatment for cancer patients to reduce the nausea of chemotherapy and radiation. Not to mention our current president's war on drugs can get me arrested or killed by cops if I ever smoke pot that's why I consider you Canadians lucky to have a government that has came to their senses and realized that criminalizing pot use is stupid.
-
@AntiTrust Haha, yeah I know. I don't think it's so much luck as it is watching the market. It doesn't really take a rocket scientist to figure out that these stocks were going to make money.
@captain_to_fire Most of the reason it's illegal is because of America's stance on it. Most other countries simply adopted it. The main issue is that there's a lot of tape that they have to go through, and most people are just happy not spending that money and going with the status quo.

@captain_to_fire I live in BC and although technically pot was (and currently still is) illegal to possess and use, in reality these laws very rarely ever got put into action, its probably because (I googled this) 43% of all canadians have tried pot . Its just a different attitude up here. Its still kind of taboo, but not really thought of as an illegal drug or a crime. Honestly, I think public perceptions are changing and the US will end up legalizing it at the federal level sometime in the next 10 years, it seems really silly to me that someone could actually go to jail for smoking a joint. Mostly the cops down here leave users alone and only go after dealers.
@dizmo yup basically, ask anyone if they would have invested in alcohol right before prohibition was lifted. of course they would have. Same thing.
-
@AntiTrust The problem with the US at the moment is that state law (10th amendment) is at odds with federal law. Blue states like California and Colorado have legalized pot but businesses which sells pot can't open a business bank account and they have to pay their employees in cash because the federal law still sees it as money laundering which is regressive imo.
-
@captain_to_fire Yeah its like a weird limbo for those businesses to be in, I think Ive read they have to invest in like bank vaults to store their cash in because like you said they cant take it to a bank.
I think pretty much all of the states are discussing legalization on some level, some closer than others. It really just comes down to what do the voters want I guess. If enough states make the switch, the feds will have to legalize it as well or at least stop harassing the states about it. And at that time, us Canadians will swoop in with our premium dope companies and capture the market and I'll make another 10,000% mwahaha
-
@AntiTrust Well Canada has to tread lightly as US might impose expensive tariffs on Canadian pot exported to the US.
