Spartancloud's Achievements

  1. I'm a forest firefighter but just to pay for school, I want to get a job in engineering when I'm done.
  2. It blew my mind the day I realized I could save money on insurance if I had a GTR instead of my 2010 lancer (it's pretty much a base model), but that's great because someday I'll take advantage of that, not for a while though. -Edit: I used to pay $4000 for my lancer, so In my mind $3000 a year isn't terrible for a car like that, for me it'd run around $2200 a year to insure a 2010 GTR in CAD
  3. I don't think he meant the numbers of the payments, but how 21,000 a year isn't 7,000 a month. Also don't forget you'd need a down-payment to get a loan that high I'd imagine. Plus look into maintenance costs, I recall the maintenance on a R8 being pretty expensive I wouldn't be surprised if the GTR is similar.
  4. CPU: i7-4790K @ 4.00 GHz GPU: ASUS Strix GTX 980 Ti RAM: Mushkin Redline 16 GB (4x4) Score: 11
  5. I find it unusual that they would want to throttle you before hitting your data cap since they charge you for going over, you would think they would wait until you go over to charge you more. I would look into whether they have a cap on the data surcharge. I once had internet through Rogers with a monthly cap of 250 GB shared between 5 people, so often when it seemed like we would go over we would just go way over like downloading over a terabyte a month and the extra fee was capped at 50$ so once you're over a bit you might as well not care at all. Although if they are throttling you that might not work the best. Anyway I feel like companies reserve the right to change your internet plan, you'd have to see what you agreed to, in my experience big companies do whatever they want including raising the cost randomly when your contract is done, but I've never had them change an existing contract on me. I'm a big fan on using small ISPs if it's available as they often offer unlimited internet and no contracts, it may be worse seeing if there's any available in your area, they don't always advertise the best so it's easy to not know they are an option.
  6. Well I enjoy hunting and fishing, and I've recently started dirt biking, I'd like to get into a little more mechanical hobbies like getting better at working on my dirt bike and car. Eventually when I get a place that allows it I'd like to try out some home machining or maybe metal casting, it's always interested me but it's always been very impractical to try.
  7. Well if you're a full time student and lost a part time job, I'm guessing you wouldn't be eligible for employment insurance. So I'm guessing there's not much to do besides start looking for another part time job. If you have savings set aside to last a few months you can maybe live off of that until summer should you not be able to get a part time job before then. I'm also from Ontario, do you by chance enjoy outdoor work?
  8. That's why I like it on my monitor, some games I really don't need it and I opt for ULMB instead, others I like to run at max settings and dip into lower frame rates, that's when I'm glad to have G-Sync. Some people will still prefer tearing though, personally I hate it but that's just me.
  9. I'm with you on this one, while I get electric vehicles make sense (assuming the electricity is generated cleanly) I just feel like I'll really miss gasoline vehicles. I really like the sound of gasoline engines, especially the sound of tuned cars, and who doesn't love the sound of anti-lag. But especially for recreational vehicles, like nothing sounds as good as revving a two stroke engine be it dirt bike or snowmobile, the sound played a part in why I bought a two stroke dirt bike over a four stroke, well that and maintenance plus you maybe it's just me but the smell of two stroke exhaust is the best. Luckily I feel like it'll still be a while before that happens, electric vehicles are still very impractical in many situations.
  10. Oh if it's for support reasons, just be extra clear. Like "I said version 1.342 when I meant to write 1.347" and if you think that won't clear it up just maybe rewrite all the version like "making the affected versions 1.245, 1.347, and 1.564" or whatever works best for your case. I feel like contacting them via email probably would make getting your point across easier but that's just me, I pretty much always email for support if it's an option.
  11. Like just casually texting people? If so I usually just resend the corrected word/words with a * after it. Like "Hey I'll meet you at the cade", followed by "cafe*", unless it's really confusing then I just explain what I meant.
  12. Thanks for the info, I guess it's just something I'll have to look into once I narrow my selection down a bit.
  13. I've been considering getting a new set of headphones and my old set had a really long cable, which at first I found fairly annoying but over time I realized it's really useful at times. So I've noticed that a good amount of headphones have detachable cables but often it sounds like they come with only one cable, are these cables generally standardized (like the connection to the headphones) or will I need to buy an expensive proprietary cable if I wanted a short and a long cable. Thanks in advance for the help.
  14. Oh nice, I always imagined it more as the one on the right, the middle one intrigues me. I'm surprised that the groves keep the liquid separated from the vapour, nice picture though it really shows the interior structure well.
  15. Wouldn't bending them damage the wick material on the inside which could drastically reduce it's ability to transfer heat? I mean it could also just stretch I suppose, I'm not 100% sure.
