I'm using a Nexus 7 for media consumption, YouTube, Netflix, a digital music library, mobile games console (Dead trigger ftw). I sold my laptop to help fund my still incomplete gaming PC, so I use mine all the time now.

Oh right, okay then, well then it comes down to personal opinion. Any case that you like the look of and has support for 2 x 240mm radiators will do I guess.

You'll never ever need that many radiators. What do you mean "Only"? You'd never need more than two 480mm rads plus a 240 rad. You could run any water-cooled system extremely quietly.

Thanks! He's been enjoying it quite a bit so far. I was a bit weary of sending a build off with someone who has a very limited knowledge of computers, but so far he's had zero problems. I think later down the road we'll play with overclocking and I'l walk him through it so he understands how to do it himself.

On account of you living in Antarctica and having a Sabertooth Motherboard, I'd call it Sub-Zero.

Switch 810. MUCH CHEAPER. But for the plastic....................................................

OR you can get a cosmos 2 or a tj07 or a corsair 600t running a 240 at bottom and 200 at front or you could get a nzxt phantom or a rosewill blackhawk .

If your financial situation is really that dire, then it really seems like you have your priorities confused. If paying $50 for a PSU means you won't eat, then fuck, don't get the PSU bro.

The Corsair CX430v3 I had linked to is probably your best bet. It's a budget oriented PSU, that's based on a modified DSA-II platform from CWT. While it's not the best PSU and the XFX Core Edition is indeed build better, it should have no problems in powering that system. For $19.99, it's a good deal.

How to make Noctuas look good: have so many in your case that they become the dominant color scheme of your rig.

Great build!  A very balanced and beastly gaming rig.

So a water cooled 7970 (not Ghz) would beat an air cooled Ghz edition card? *Overclocked of course

I guess either way I'd be saving at least £160 and up to £400 that I could put towards a gpu upgrade down the line, possibly the Maxwell or the new AMD cards.

I can pick up a Laing DDC for around half the price of the Laing D5, so I'd be tempted to get two Laing DDC's for both a performance boost and security should one die on me.

So this summer I'll be building my first PC. I'm debating whether to watercool my CPU and GPU's but I'm not sure if I'll be out of my depth by doing so, considering I've never even built a PC before. Would you guys say I'd be better off buying an AIO cooler like the H100i or Swiftech H220? I'm just really worried about killing my components...

My advice would be 7970 CF as they dropped the price on them, you can get two 7970s for the price of one GTX 780 and still have some money for a few lunches on the side. The 7970 may be an older card, but it still has quite a bite and you will be able to max any game out there easily for the next year or two. Go for the 7970s and put the money you would have spent on a second GTX780 in the bank for your next graphics upgrade down the line, that way when the 7970s can no longer pull decent frames in games you can just pick up the next latest and greatest.
Also I agree the Titan is a massive waste, as you could pick up 3 7970s for the price of one, never will a single GPU beat a multi-card setup of the same generation as long as a game is coded right.

How can I get this through to you? It. Can't. Use. 4GB. I rather have a card with higher memory interface width like the 7970 than getting one with less like the 770. If we ever see games that use up 3GB the 7970 WILL be faster than the GTX 770 4GB.

7990 has 3GB so that would be fine but the 690 is only 2GB so that wouldn't be enough.

    And?

So people should VRAM bottleneck themselves with a 2GB card just because you can't use the full 4GB on a 770? Makes total sense.

It's more W.C friendly than Air cooling friendly. Honestly buddy, if noise is the issue, you really should be looking at fans, not on the case. Choose the one that looks the nicest / has specs you need and then put some quiet fans in. I'm replacing all my fans with SP120 Q.E and AF140 Q.E fans.

My eyes got bad when I was younger, before I started working on computer for a living. My eyes got really bad when I was about 16, and even then didn't use computers that much. Ever since I was 18 (24 almost now) I have worked on computers for a living, 8 hours a day. Then I come home and spend another 3-4 in front of a screen. I have used the same glasses prescription since I was 16 years old (still have the same glasses actually). So I can safely say that my eye sight hasn't worsened from computers what so ever.
