I checked the internal components, my pc is not loud and it hasn't exploded. I've read reviews before buying it and most said it was a great budget psu and it simply does the job. why are so many people in love with corsair....

There's a difference between Reviews and Benchmarks.

    Review on newegg:

"Hey I bought this 4770K and I OC'd it to 4.4ghz, this CPU is great! Runs cool with the stock heat sink!"

    Benchmark

"You'll reach +4.5 GHz real fast. But sure, be advised and get some proper cooling to achieve and maintain acceptable temperatures. The bottom line is that once you pass 1.30 Volts on the processor, heat becomes an issue real fast. "

    Source

Now to be fair, three years ago when I built mine I never would have though "Oh hey i need to look up how well this PSU's performs" I would just make sure the wattage was okay and buy what was a reasonable price. (How I got stuck with a CX600m) but that's not the mentality you really should have. This forum section helped me realize that

The Fractal Design website makes no mention of this, as far as I can see. Shame because I love how the FD cases look :/

building a computer, starting with the case, I can't decide

    one which do you like?

    None.

For a <$50 case, Fractal Design Focus G

For a $50-100 case, Fractal Design Meshify C, Phanteks Enthoo Pro M TG, Define C TG, Corsair 460X, NZXT S340 Elite/Phanteks P400 TG, mainly in that order.

For a >$100 case, Fractal Design Define R6

I was able to get my hands on a used 380t and it should arrive soon for my switch to an itx build. My question is that in my current set up i am using a hx850i psu. Would that be able to fit? The pc partpicker compatibility filter says that it won't but I am not sure.

I too have an second hand 380T, and let me tell you, there's no way you're feasibly getting that monster in there

It fits a power supply up to 180mm long

Yeah sure, it says it could fit a max length of that, but your cables will be a nightmare. I'm personally going to pick up a much smaller and more size manageable PSU like the EVGA G3 series (the G2 has the same length issue) when I put my current system in it.

  5. I've seen a 780T in person so I know how big that guy is, its slightlyu bigger than my Level 10 GT I think...

The R6 will be a small size redux, but a huge overall improvement. It won Best case of 2017 from Hardware Canucks, Gamers Nexus, and myself personally. It just does nearly everything right (dont use an air cooled card with the horizontal GPU spot)

Given how many open spaces there are in the chassis, you'd need a decent positive pressure system to keep dust out.

The good news it is comes with 2 120mm intakes and a 120mm exhaust, so that should be slightly less  of an issue.

There are better overall options for a "temperature cool" case while still being "aesthetically cool"... @lachlan02 what are you looking for in a case (features, looks, budget)

Looks like I'm ending up with the Fractal Design R6 non-TG version. Thanks.

Fractl makes the cases that descrive everything you've ever wanted in a case.

Also, if oyu find for some reason the R6 is too big for your tastes, they do have the Define C, which shortens the case by about 4" but can still hold a full length GPY and an air tower in it while not sacrificing any of the aforementioned requirements.

But which one has better air cooling?

The Luxe has better intake, however it's not great. It's still better than the abysmal Evolv.

Another option to consider is the Enthoo Pro M TG, it's cheaper than both, but it's still a good quality Phanteks case and it has great airflow, about the same size as the evolv and still has that fantastic Phanteks look to it :)

Do we know for sure that Ryzen+ will use the 2000 series nomenclature?.

I dont know if we do, I just saw a lot of people using that literature as placeholders for the Ryzen series, and since it was more than a couple of people I was under the asumption it could be the leading scheme moving forward, which makes less logistical sense.

Then again, Nvidia did release a GTX 1080, which of course, everyone assumed was for 1080p gaming, so...

Sensor: Honestly, both are greAt, and have very similar sensors so there's no going wrong on the choice

I believe they both use the exact same pmw3366 sensor, so it comes down to basic feeling and features of the mouse. G Pro is more ambidextrous, while G502 (the ne I personally use) is more form fitting especially for those who have medium-large hands. I'm not even sure what type of grip i use, i think I'm like a hybrid of claw and palm, leaning towards claw, but I've found the G502 to be super comfortable for the last three years straight and wouldnt change it for much.

With the Christmas chaos got lots of travelling done, a good 5000km added to the clock o.O The car handled it all perfectly and never missed a beat.

So a Big ST site in the UK was doing a Christmas special that was to good to ignore, Ordered on the 28th, arrived on the 3rd what so surprised with that turnaround and the special brought it below the $400 mark ($398.80) so I got it without any Import tax duties!  so Whats in the box you ask... 3" Downpipe and Straight through De-Cat

The car is now making some epic noises and man do those 5 Cylinders sound glorious its also popping on shifts and sometimes getting a bit of flames out the back (I've been told) So so Happy with it, Just waiting on my Mini-cat so that I can get rid of the check engine light on my dash as don't even have the 02 plugged in at all :P

Also found out over the holidays my car Perfectly fits a BMW 6 Cylinder 2.5 M50b25 engine with the boot without even folding down the seats. We did a 1000km round trip just to fetch the engine and dropped a friend off. the space of a hatchback :P

So that engine is getting swapped into the E30 below, Decided to try my hand at auto photography, messed up shutter speed so didn't get the nice blurred wheels and background but its all about learning.

I really considered doing Cat-less, but my state is a bit..... how you americano's say...... fucking assholes and they're upping the inspection requirements constantly it feels and I just dont have the time to keep up with them. Right now I dont think o2 sensors are checked since the car is so new, but who knows? With the VW emmisions issue two (now like three years ago) it wouldnt surprise me.

Yeah no comment on that. But from Wikipedia, it states 5'6 is female and 5'10 is male Canada and USA but plenty of people are above 6'2"

I'm 6'3, and my buddy who owns the miata is maybe 5'10 and 200ish lbs id say. I have never sat in his car but he has never had any issues (though his seats are no longer stock)

Yea, up here a few people on the Focus forum have the RS and they've all had mechanical issues. One had to have the entire drive train replaced at 58k kilometers. That shouldn't happen. Not only that, but you can get a fully spec'd WRX STI for $10,000 less. The Audi S5, RS3, are all within a couple thousand dollars. Even in Ford's line up, you can get a very well appointed Mustang GT. The RS is priced about $8,000 out of its class.

58k km? Damn thats not far at all! I havent heard anything that bad personally, but kilometers sounds like it's the MKII, which is different than the MKIII in america, but, tomato tomAto. Point still reamins there are better car options across the board in all countries and all makes and models.

I'm looking for this case AC300W to buy and can't seem to find it anywhere do any of you know any other places that sell these

Any particular reason you want this case? I've looked at it and there are some pretty glaring flaws...

    • The build quality is more akin to a cheaper case like a DIYPC, which usually sell for $50 not $100
    • IT has USB Type C.... But it's 3.1 gen 1, meaning its the same speed as the usb 3.0 ports right next to it.
    • The HDMI Pass through, is unique, only the S340 Elite has it AFAIL, but the HDMI plug is routed to the internals of the case, meaning you can only use if oyou bought a GPU with an HDMI header on the cooler (like the Gigabyte Aorus card has, shocker!)
    • Poor airflow. Not sold that those side vents are enough, they block a bit too much on either side.
    • Another Vertical GPU mount that puts the card too close to the side panel.
    • MOLEX CONNECTORS. EW.

But with ryzen and all that I'm confused.

Ryzen's architecture benefits from High mhz speed ram, but not all ram is made equally. Previous AMD cpu's and Intel CPU's didnt care what kind of RAM it was (the actual RAM modules themselves made by samsung or micron, etc) but Ryzen is more particular.

Each motherboard (ones that are quality anyways) have a QVL, or a Qualified Vendor List, of the Tested and certified to work RAM with the motherboard. For example, here is the QVL for the Asus B350 STRIX

    Yesss that's amazing

The ASUS ROG Strix Z370-G (WiFi AC) is a good one, but unavailable in India. Anyways, my exhaust will also be better in the H400i. I will use 5 NZXT Aer RGB fans, 3 120mm (exhaust) and 2 140mm (intake). If this causes negative pressure, please tell. Very good.

Thanks still. Bur please tell me if 3 fans as exhaust and 2 as intake will cause negative pressure or not.

It would have negative airflow, if all fans were spinning at the same speed.

Since the intakes are 140mm Fans, they only have slightly less airflow than three 120mm fans (i cant remember exactly how much) so you would either need to

    • A, increase the fan speed of the 2 intakes or
    • B, slow the fan speeds of the 3 exhaust.

Either method would neutralize airflow, or even make it positive if you really offset the speeds. Now the H series has a "smart hub" fan controller, but I dont know if the "machine learning bullcrap" is disable-able, and just manually set the fan speeds like a normal fan controller.... If you can, I'd personally do that as having the buggy software controlling your temperature is less ideal.

Maybe a Miata? 3-series? I'm really liking the idea of a Miata but I'm not finding anyone that wants to trade one for my truck, most of the guys with Miatas have lots of cars and are trying to have less cars so....

I know at one point my buddy who helped me with my ST was considering selling his Miata and was looking for a truck., Couldnt find the post on Facebook so maybe he's no longer considering/sold it, but there are buyers for almost everything!
