  1. Well. Good luck, hope it will perform better than this I'n the German article they also note random 0.5s long stutters that occur regardless of settings and city size

Are these the ones that suddenly break in half?
  3. Well, yes. CS:2 is way more demanding on graphics cards now so your RTX 3060 is just not cutting it at that resolution. Just lower the settings.
  4. no, depends from game to game, workload to workload
  5. It will be slightly better because you'll increase the amount of ranks. But dual channel is still significantly better than that

I'll give BG3 a pass. The games has bugs but at least it's a fun and very playable game and they do constantly release patches and actually fix and even add stuff. CS:2 runs definitely better than it did few weeks back and it's definitely more demanding than CS:GO but at least scales with GPUs well. They really need to fix the performance when there are smokes and molotovs as even with 5800X3D my FPS can drop to aroun 150-170FPS and apparently it's the 2nd best CPU except 7800X3D for this game right now. Otherwise the game runs well above 300-400FPS which is fine. Starfield is a cure for insomnia.

@Senzelian also not shown in those graphs but in the article I linked they mention the frame times spikes that occur regardless if you move or don't move camera that last almost 0.5s regardless of settings or city size...

The 1st game was CPU intensive but you can see the 2nd game is not CPU limited in those graphs at High preset and the 5600X is good enough for around 70FPS avg.

So Cities Skylines performance is apparently sh…

It's worth to spend grand on a GPU so that you can enjoy your old backlog of Steam games at insanely high framerate I play Red Dead Redemption 2 right now and I'm getting well over 100FPS (actually closer to 200 but I cap the game to 90 as it's good enough for this game and my GPU is almost idle) and the game still looks as good or even better than most games that are releasing now which don't even perform half as well... it's really mind boggling.
  10. Highly depends on a game you play. Basically, if a CPU is good enough to reach X FPS in a given game and both cards are capable of going above that, then you will only reach that X FPS with that CPU so it does not matter if one card is better than the other. However if CPU is good enough to reach X FPS in a given game and the weaker GPU is not capable of reaching that, at least without lowering your graphics settings, then you will still benefit from the better GPU. Obviously, low 1% and 0.1% and frame times may still vary wildly.
  11. Last weekend I used it for my Sapphire Pulse 6800 XT and managed to get to Top69 in 3D Mark TimeSpy. https://www.3dmark.com/search#advanced?test=spy P&cpuId=&gpuId=1348&gpuCount=1&gpuType=ALL&deviceType=ALL&storageModel=ALL&memoryChannels=0&country=&scoreType=graphicsScore&hofMode=true&showInvalidResults=false&freeParams=&minGpuCoreClock=&maxGpuCoreClock=&minGpuMemClock=&maxGpuMemClock=&minCpuClock=&maxCpuClock= It works really well. I haven't tried it for CPU yet so not sure if it makes sense to use on an IHS or if it only works well on direct die. 10 loops of Time Spy GPU test 2 vs Thermal Grizzly Carbonaut - red (Arctic MX-4 was about the same performance as Carbonaut but after 2 weeks the paste pumpout would get it to hit TJmax of 110C on hotspot at 312W) vs PTM 7950 - green. 3 loops of GPU Test 2 with GPU power limit set to 400W at 100% fan speed (blue) (it never reached 400W due to hitting TDC limit of 345A but got close enough). Both Carbonaut and PTM needs extra cooler pressure on the die due to being way too thin and cooler not making almost any contact by default, I had to use washers under the screws to tighten it further.
  12. Looks like Cities Skylines 2 is a great game if you'll play it at LOW settings.

Hopefully they'll improve it until release because 1440p HIGH with RTX 4090 averaging 28FPS does not seem like a great experience.

Baldur's Gate is full of bugs, UE5 looks like shit, C:S2 turns out to be junk and Starfield is fucking boring. Best game for fucking gaming ever.

I was talking about CS2, not CS2. How can you not clearly see the difference? It's so obvious! 🫠

  13. It's quite possible it is your GPU. Try to cap the power limit on your card to 50% and see if you get a shutdown.

    How?

Man Can walk from one side of continent to another trough any terrain Weights less than 100kg Does not need oil change Car Huge and heavy Struggles to go anywhere where there is no road Needs to pay subscriptions for heated seats How is that possible? You see? I can compare apples and oranges and only take positives of ones and list negatives of the other too! Can your phone run those games the 4080 struggles with? No? Oh well...
  15. Well then, the measurements are bad. You would not get nowhere near 30FPS not to mention over 100FPS with just 5%-15% GPU usage in that game. Use HWinfo64 or GPU-Z.
  16. All system specs? What are you using to measure the usage with? What performance are you getting in the game at what settings and resolution?
  17. TAA works well but you may notice ghosting on moving objects
  18. There is a shot of a Phoenix 2 APU that has both Zen 4 and Zen 4c cores (two Zen 4 and four Zen 4c). The cores are exactly the same but the Zen 4c are a lot smaller (rearranged layout to make it more dense and efficient). Lower density allows for higher clock speeds than higher density due to less concentrated heat and possibly lower noise.
  19. Well, FXAA is one of the worst kind of AA and tends to be closer to a "blur filter" than an actual AA.
