  1. Exactly. Start with something simple. You might keep the ZEN Air and it got all what you need. It's basically a stripped down ZEN dac because the latter got features you likely don't need like the 4.4mm audiojack for example. So keep the Air and spend the money on new headphones if you wanna enjoy audio. You can indeed always upgrade if you will. However, spending 400$ on different headphones makes more sense. I could be wrong but as someone who has different audio, that's what I would do.
  2. You don't need to spend a lot of money on a dac/amp. What is your budget? Or what about iFi ZEN Air for example?
  3. External audio would probably be a better and perhaps cheaper solution too. Onboard audio are usually trash and weak. External audio also have more power to provide such headphones plenty of juice.
  4. Nah, it's all fine. I really enjoy my hobbys and I'm with my family too. that's all I love. I mean, I'm very simple and minimalistic too lol No need to be sorry lol. And yes, once this oled monitor will be released, I'll be sure to read a lot of reviews and will get it from a reputable store to return it in case I don't like it or it has annoying features. ABL is what made to return my 42C2 for example.
  5. I know. However, in my current circumstances regarding health, I'm not even sure if I can make it to 3 years. I just want to make the best out of it while I still can. I can always return it if I don't like it. And I won't use this OLED monitor for browsing, writing documents, emails and so on. No, it will be only used for entertainment. Yeah, just watched the unboxing and the cables look all the same. Except for mobo of course. The rest of my build is in my sig.
  6. Well then, I think I'll be fine. I do know the more fps, the harder the GPU will have to work. So currently 4K/60 is plenty personally. I had too many times happened my 1080Ti were running at max without my consent, like when having Firefox in the background with hardware accelerator, GTAV with graphics and map mods and GPU running at speed of 1949MHz for hours. I did want to upgrade for LG 27GR95QE OLED monitor too. I'm seeing the modular PSUs and all of them have PCIe/CPU. I guess the GPU cables goes in those?
  7. Yeah, and also 75W from the motherboard?
  8. Another thing that really caught my interest is the daisy chain. Today it's the first time I heard about this. Does GPU's really require 2 or 3 seperate cables? My first GPU was an Asus DirectCUII GTX780 and made the upgrade to 1080Ti back in 2018. It came with an extra cable if I remember it so I could use 2x 8pins. GTX780 was probably 1x 8pin and 1x 6pin or I'm horribly mistaken. But still a good thing to know more about the daisy chain and seperate cables.
  9. Yeah, that's what I've been thinking too. I also don't overclock it and likely won't be using the GPU at max power too. if required, which one? I've been eyeing for the V750 V2. Yep, 800W is too much. I'll be downvolting too without sacrificing performance.
  10. Hi there! So I've got very tired of the insane GPU prices from retailers so I decided to get a 2ndhand 3080, Asus TUF Gaming OC version. My current PSU is a CoolerMaster V650S and CPU is a 4770 so nothing that requires Iron Man powersupply. Main goal is 4K gaming. Now the CM V650S is semi modular if I'm not mistaken but it got a daisy chain. Though I've got the right amount of PCI cables as my current GPU is a Aorus 1080Ti with 2x 8pins too. Will it work or will I need a new PSU?
  11. What about Beyerdynamic? Their headphones are also build like a tank and they have spare parts too. In your case, why not the Tygr 300R? Comfort is damn excellent and sound is very good too. You don't have to be audiophile to get better sound. You can love good sound like I do and audio is my hobby where I enjoy at maximum. My sig explains it lol. Except the earbuds because I no longer use them.
  12. Regarding the plain grey surfaces, don't worry about it. I have that on my OLED I got since september 2018. What you see is image retention, not burn-in. Image retention will vanish. You'll only notice it if you're looking for it and also if you're very close to the TV. I'm not afraid so as soon as the new LG OLED monitor will be released here in the Netherlands, I'll buy it asap. Asus sucks when it comes to their words and they'll likely release their OLED monitors next year or so... And all others will take too long
  13. Which one will come out in a few days?
  14. Make a photo of your Beyerdynamic so we can identify it.
  15. Yeah, I wanted to go easy without offending others their feelings for Sony but yes, totally agreed everything sounds better than Sony. I never used the included cable because of my desk and my external dac/amp is literally aside my monitor The 3m cable for my Amiron Home were very annoying. Any reason why it's pricey? Because of length or materials used?
  16. I see, then the Fidelio X2HR is the best as it fits your requirement. It may look very big and chonky but it's very comfortable and it doesn't fall off your head easily. Important to know: in the beginning it may be uncomfortable but that's because the earpads are new and stiff. It will definitly improve and then you'll even forget it's on your head. I speak from experience. And It will probably sound better than the Sony. If i'm correctly, the X2HR comes with 3 metres aux cable. It can be detached too.
  17. What is your budget? Affordable headphones that are very comfortable are the Fidelio X2HR and Beyerdynamic Tygr 300R.
  18. In other words: Apple is a wolf in sheep outfit. That's why they don't get caught easily and often. And also bribing/lobbying too. Anyone who thinks Apple is saint must have his/her head really really effing deep in the ground, they can smell the oil in there lol
  19. A fine affordable external dac/amp is a much better solution and they also beat the shit out of onboard audio.
  20. That might be a problem because of money. The more difficult, the most it costs money. Gamedevs for example won't optimize games.
  21. The LG is for sale in the US, right? Not in EU? Exactly. I had to turn the OLED brightness down to 35 or something when I had the 42C2.
  22. Well, in that case, why would I wait longer for Asus to actually release it and to pay more. Asus has this dumb habit to announce cool monitors and they take very long to actually release them like 1,5 years later, which literally happened. I don't have any use for HDR and any monitor that I got will have the brightness down to about 60-70.
