TechJohnson's Achievements

  1. Love the idea, man! Can't wait to see some pictures.
  2. What's going on, everyone? I'm happy to be updating this thread! The build is almost complete, I'm just waiting on a Power Supply. I was originally going to see if BitFenix was able to send me one for this build, but they are currently low on stock for us YouTubers. So, I'm thinking about picking up the EVGA 430W PSU for the time being. Thoughts? Anyway, I wanted to do a bit of customization to the build. Since I'm going with a primary black theme, the harsh clashing of the silver SSD in the side panel window was really bothering me. Decided to take matters into my own hands and create a video on my process. Hope you enjoy!
  3. Hey everyone! It feels like it's been an eternity since I last provided an update. I wish I had a better excuse, but with my car engine swap, the Black Pilot build (which is about done), as well as life/family bills, I just haven't had the extra funds to purchase more parts. However, I still haven't forgotten about this build. It stares at me every day! Anyway, for my Black Pilot build, I am proud to have BitFenix as one of my official sponsors. I decided to see if they would be willing to provide me with the white Recon for this build. I've heard some mixed reviews on this product and figured, if I could get my hands on it, I will check it out. Here I stand today, announcing that BitFenix is also an official sponsor for this build. That now makes the list jump to 3 sponsors! Thank you! Below are a few pictures of the Recon.
  4. Awesome! Yeah, this build will be air cooled on the stock CPU cooler provided. I'm not doing anything crazy with this build. If I'm able to run Counter-Strike: Global Offensive at medium settings, I'll be happy. My main build I'm saving up for is my X99 build. Find the link in the signature.
  5. Just wanted to give a quick mini update. Just received a donation on my live CS:GO stream. Getting ready to order some G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB 2133MHz RAM. Boooyah!
  6. What's going on, peeps? It's been awhile since I've updated you on this build. I recently went away on vacation to Vermont and when I returned home, I received a pretty awesome package on my doorstep by BitFenix! They have been awesome and kind enough to sponsor this build. They've included a case, some fans, the Recon for my X99 build, and there is a possibility that there may be a power supply on its way when stock returns. Regardless to say, I just want to say thanks to BitFenix. Go check them out. With that said, this build was originally a budget build of $300, but I have decided to build upon the motherboard and CPU that I've already purchased. I want this build to eventually act as a low end gaming PC, as well as a home server for all my music, files and movies. As of right now, I'm just going to build and see what happens. The only thing left to 100% receive for a working computer is the PSU and RAM!

Man, that black hardware looks sexy. Followed for the epicness.
  8. Talk about modifications! I'm looking forward to see what the final build is going to look like.
  9. Hey everyone! Hope everyone is having a fantastic week. Just wanted to do a quick update. First matter of business, I've been out for the count for about a week with pretty bad bronchitis. I haven't even been able to work on my own business, let alone my current builds. I'm hoping it starts to clear up this week so I can start getting down to business with all that I do. My update today has to do with the internals of the physical case. As you all know, I'm going for a primarily white build...almost white out style. Because of this Sam (schgrcube) here on the forum has reached out to me in hopes to do an even exchange of my black internal parts, for his white internal parts. Of course, I couldn't say no to this! Disclaimer: These pictures were shot from my iPhone 5S. If you would like higher quality images, please let me know. So, here are the white parts I have received. I think they really add to the build. Thanks again, Sam!
  10. No doubt! I've already gone back and checked them out. Loving the progress.
  11. There are a number of things that could be causing this. Maybe your graphic card needs an update? Maybe one of your ports is broken? Heck, maybe one of your cords is broken.
  12. Have you tried to simply restart? If so, maybe go into your device manager?
  13. I remember when I was frightened from thunder. Your PSU will pass that stage in life, just have to give it time.
  14. Hey everyone! It's been awhile since I gave my last update, so I figured it was time to finally give you guys a mini update. I'm happy to announce that Crucial has joined on as one of my official sponsors of the Red Arctic. First and foremost, thank you for believing in this build, Crucial. It means a lot to have you on board. Anyway, Crucial has been awesome and sent over the MX200 250GB SSD...two of them! Like I said, nothing major to announce, just wanted to give you guys a quick update. I hope to get some more parts soon. However, don't forget about my Black Pilot build, which is going to take a mini turn soon.
