AlexWalters08 got a reaction from rose.thashton in 1st time pc
The NEX PSU's are not the best in quality....I learned that the hard way. Maybe opt for a higher quality PSU. Refer to this thread, it does a great job breaking down all the most popular PSU's,

educate yourself please. the psu is not a fire hazard it just has poor temp tolerance and low quality capacitors.. it is a tier 4 not tier 5 unit. people make it out alot worse than it actually is!

Right now, wait for the cooler and if the thing even powers up you better be on your knees thanking the lord. Now until you get a cooler, find your nearest church and pray...

It's not really racing but.. Rocket League?
Very fun multiplayer game in my experience.

AlexWalters08 reacted to ttam in Comcast being annoying...as usual...
Basically your modem is on a list to not work correctly. They need to re-set it up on their end and force it to work. The customer service rep probably won't know what to do unless told what to do
Just tell them it needs to be re-provisioned

AlexWalters08 reacted to The Toaster in Dual band routers with really good 802.11n preformance.
Looking for a new router. All of my devices at home don't support 802.11ac. Dual band is also a must.
My budget is around 30$ - Buying used on ebay. I would rather have better preformance than a lot of features.
I have been looking at a few, but I really can't decide. I was maybe thinking the EA4500, because the RT-N66U is out of budget.

AlexWalters08 reacted to bam610 in My First Build - $450 Gaming Budget Build
So, here's the story. My current computer (which is excellent by the way) only has Intel HD Graphics 4000. Obviously bad for gaming and video editing (two of my favorite things). So today I ordered this build (all the parts will get picked up at Microcenter). So, I'm looking for opinions on how I did and on what to upgrade in the future.
Here's the Build

They may support up to 60FPS, but tend to hover around the 30FPS mark when playing games. You will only get the smooth 60FPS when you are at the home screen, or when streaming video.

Why do you need 200FPS? If you get a 60hz monitor (like most normal people) your monitor will be displaying 60FPS max, even if your GPU can give you 200+ FPS.
