  1. Is there a way to toggle this feature on/off after activating it?
  2. Elon has stated while the software will improve, no. I believe this is due to HW1 vehicles having hardware from Mobileeye (or something). After an accident, they were finger pointing and the companies split. Tesla started using new hardware for HW2 vehicles. This is why some HW2 cars were actually behind HW1 cars feature wise. He has also said that the cost and hassle it would be to upgrade hardware from 1 to 2 is not worth it.
  3. I remember submitting a claim for this, but I can't find any emails on this in my inbox. Did anyone get any confirmation emails with their claim? Not sure how I am going to get mine.
  4. Updated earlier with the tool. The update broke my start menu button, notification center, and other Windows icons in the task bar. I ran a command in Powershell that I found on YouTube and it seemed to fix the issue. (Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}) One thing I have noticed is the bottom row of icons above my task bar seem a bit higher than they used to be, did this change or is it just me? Everything else aside from the broken start menu has been fine thus far.
  5. Would this help back light bleed at all that we usually see on IPS panels?
  6. I'd really like to know if the 22GB throttle limit means if one person of 4 in a plan has a 22GB limit before that individual may be throttled, or the 4 family members together can hit the 22GB limit? If it's per person that is honestly not bad. I am a few hours north of NYC too and tbh I never notice any sort of slow downs or anything with my 4G LTE network. I'm really wondering if Verizon is true to throttling only when the network is congested or they will do it regardless. I wouldn't have an issue with that if they stay true to their word and I did hit my 22GB limit then. If those 2 things aren't issues, while I really just want true "unlimited" and not this trash marketing it may not be too bad.
  7. Dat feel when you have Optimum. Hopefully this hits my area (1-1.5hr north of NYC) within a couple years and is reasonably priced. Maybe tiers like 500Mbps and 1Gbps will be priced fairly well with 10Gbps in the picture.
  8. Ah okay. I did see that information about Coffee Lake and I would imagine the socket would stay the same although the website did mention otherwise. Observing this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_CPU_microarchitectures the socket changes every time the architecture changes, which should not happen until Ice Lake. Coffee Lake in this case seems like even a second refresh due to not jumping to 10nm yet, but we do get 2 more cores.
  9. Did the E series processors just get renamed to X with more options? The chart really doesn't make sense to me, it's odd they launch two at the same time with the older name having more cores, cache etc. Also for Skylake-X why the drop in L3 cache? I'm assuming all these lines are still for heavy CPU users and don't make any sense for gaming for the most part. For the desktop processors do you guys believe the new 6 core Coffee Lake processor would come at an extra premium over the 4 cores? Or would you imagine the 6 core i7 for example would replace the 4 core at the same price point? Kind of want to upgrade from Sandy Bridge but wouldn't mind waiting for the 6 core option the following year. However, if the 6 core is going to be way over ~330 I may not get it anyway. Also kind of speculating but would the socket likely remain the same from Kaby Lake to Coffee Lake? It's all based off the Skylake architecture, no?
  10. Sorry forgot to add that I edited the first post. GTX 970. I play some games here and there and do have a 1440p monitor but I mainly play CSGO (I know I don't need an i7 but I don't mind spending the extra $ for one :)). Yeah I know each generation doesn't seem to have massive jumps in performance anymore but I don't mind being patient even if it's 2-3 months. Is there an expected date for Kaby Lake CPUs to be released for desktops yet? I plan on using some gifts for RAM, mobo, etc I'll just piece it together over the next few months. If there was any performance boost for Intel CPUs over the past few years you would think it would be from the addition of 2 extra cores.
  11. Been doing some thinking lately if I want to upgrade my overclocked 2500k to the new Kaby Lake i7 CPU. I have been considering wait an extra 8 months to a year or so for the following generation after Kaby Lake which I believe is going to be Coffee Lake, while Cannonlake (10nm) is only going to be mobile due to yield issues. I definitely wouldn't mind the upgrade because I feel like i5 Sandy Bridge to i7 Kaby Lake would be quite the boost in overall performance. However, I have been hearing rumors that after Kaby Lake we could see 6 core processors coming into play for desktop processors. This is pretty exciting and I'm wondering if I should really just stick it out another year and wait for that. I know there probably isn't much info on it right now and I have Googled around but would the 6 core i7 replace the 4 core at the same price point you guys think or would that 6 core come at a larger premium price? I honestly don't mind paying ~$340 for an i7 now, but if that CPU is going to be around $500 I may not want to fork off that much cash just for a CPU since I don't really do a whole lot except game a bit on my PC. Also if they did come out fairly priced since it's going to be based off the same Skylake architecture the socket could potentially be the same and I could just upgrade the CPU and still keep my RAM and motherboard if I really wanted the 6 core model. Does this seem likely? This would make the upgrade decision this year pretty easy, because I could just sell the CPU for a quick upgrade to Coffee Lake if I really wanted to. Quick specs now: i5 2500k @ 4.4GHz (air cooling), 8GB DDR3 1600MHz, G1 Gaming GTX 970, Samsung 850 EVO. I would plan to get: i7 k model (liquid cool it), 16GB DDR4, new motherboard, keep GPU/SSDs.
  12. I'm going to be purchasing either a USB amp/DAC combo or a sound card very soon. My current headphones are the Audio Technica ATH-M50s so I don't plan on buying anything too crazy. The main reason I plan on purchasing something other than using on board sound is due to my headphones not sounding nearly loud for games and music. When plugging the M50s into my iPhone 7 Plus for example, the volume is clearly much louder (my motherboard uses Realtek ALC 889). Currently for my setup I also have an audio switch to change between my headphones and speakers which is here: https://www.amazon.com/Speaker-Headset-Switching-Manhattan-172851/dp/B000K8PH8C/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1477188387&sr=8-5&keywords=media+hub My main question is can this switch degrade the audio or effect the volume at all? Right now when plugging directly into my computer or into this switch I don't seem to notice any differences, but if I do get something that can drive a large enough sound would this impact the audio in any way? To combat the volume issue up til now I have been plugging my headphones into my Logitech speakers and that has a volume switch on it so I can usually get my headphones loud enough no problem, however when unplugging my headphones no sound will come out the speakers for 5-10 minutes which can be annoying (Logitech Z506). The USB DAC solutions do seem more expensive although honestly I would prefer that because it would easy to plug the headphones in right there on my desk and I was hoping to find one with a switch built in for headphone and speaker setups but did not really any so I plan on going with a sound card. The one I have picked out is here: https://www.amazon.com/Creative-Blaster-Audigy-Performance-Headphone/dp/B00EO6X4XG/ref=sr_1_3?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1477188961&sr=1-3&keywords=sound+card Again nothing to crazy since I'm only looking for more volume, but if anyone has any amp/DAC or sound card suggestions, please recommend them! Lastly, it seems quite odd that with so many gamers out there I don't see a ton of audio switches to help go back and forth between speakers and headphones easily. I have broken the front 3.5mm jack on my case due to constantly having to plug in the headphones. If anyone who uses both and has good solutions please recommend them. The switch I have now gets the job done but is quite ugly and just looks cheap.
  13. Yeah I have a Samsung EVO myself for my machine and that is what I had picked for his. I've actually had my PC running OSX before using tonymac's website as well. Thank you all for the help
