  1. well sounds like you have a hi end pc and you want to make another? or you find you like the use case of the laptop thow needs to be pluged in to really use it. im guessing a pc would be faster then a laptop but i dont no. the laptop will have a lower wat cpu thow but limited on cooling i guess. laptop more portable, pc more custom i guess... most likely you dont need the speed but want it for shit and gigs.
  2. really depends on case, gpu height. how close the gpu is to the side depends on how much air it gets at full rpm. a case that has side mesh or intake it could be good. but its alot like the downflow cpu coolers good for mb vrm temps but bad for air flow as its all over the place. if you vertical mount it and case has say front intake, top back exhaust some hot air will go down and some up. the down air can be sucked back in. there are motherboards that had problems of gpu exhausting its heat at the southbridge and causing problems also m.2 temps should be better. so it really depends. in a case that has bottom fans you could vertical mount the gpu have top and bottom exhaust well side and back intake with and aio. tower coolers also can get in the way of mounting it vertical. a case like the fractal design north mesh i think would do good with a vertical gpu thow it also do goo with a horizontal as well... but i mean how much of a difference are we talking 1-5c?
  3. gpus for indy games like rx 470, 1060, 1080. as for cpu i no there older cpus that cant play games so i dont no how new you have to go to be able to play them like hogworts. dont think there are gpu in compatablitys? but could be wrong. i still use a 1080 and 6600k prity low power build like 270w a 6600 xt would be even lower. guess depends on games
  4. screw driver or button on psu will work
  5. you can go uo to like 2150 rpm and it be prity quiet. posably 2400. back in the day the norm was 1200 rpm. my gentle typhoons did 2150 and there quiet. gpu fans on the other had can be alot louder depending on gpu. we also got hire rpm 140mm fans that are also quiet at 1900 rpm. smoothing we didnt have back then. there was one fast 180mm fan and that was siver stone but pasted 800 it got nosy.
  6. gpus can exhaust its heat at the mb witch could be at the m.2. lower temos can improve things but i dont no just depends i guess. parts of m.2 dont like being too cold.
  7. you need an insulator to keep the heat in the hose. just like a thermos keep things hot and cold
  8. you can air duct ed the heat out or water cool and put the rad by the window. some one did that and worked good. you could put it in another room too how easily that is i dont no.
  9. more surface area is more cooling but at 30+c each rad will do less cooling meaning more rads im thinking if you want it under thrmlthrottle and quieter maybe it will work. might have to fill the loop evry week thow. ya it got hot here for 2 days and i was naked in my bed with a fan on me slamming water and im in a basement sweet. something like duby is nuts and they still drank hot coffee... but life gos on i guess...
  10. ya i like the porn too... dont see it too much these days... but gpus and cpus getting hotter so maybe... ql fans i dont have? or you talking about the pic? i dont recommend people build a pc like i do... my rads alone cost more then people full build... right i dont need a gaming pc i play diablo 2 and mindcraft...
  11. im arguing that you dont need push pull ever... people that dont care about cost go for it. who cares. i dont need 8x 560 in my pc but i can...dose not mean i tell them they need 10 3000 rpm fans in there system...
  12. if we are not tell them what is best for the moeny the why not tell them to go balls deep then. spend $500 on an aio for that 1c drop. $50 a fan. $300 case. and walyes buy the striks kuz its the best right. gota use kpx too...
  13. i no my dad oc a cpu buy putting solder on it. and i remember ocing my p2 with a jumper. my dad got an athlon 64 and got a thrmaltake volcano cooler and the loud 80mm fan... my dad also got a metal 120mm fan when 80mm were the norm and he 7 volt it with a toggle switch. i on the other hand got a p4 with a thrmlright cooler and a 120mm fan and wispier quiet... and i spent my moeny on case and thing that look cool my dad would get mad at me like thats a wast of moeny (thow i got his hamydowns any way so...) as for ocing i dont under stand it. my dad did oc my i7920 to 4.0 but it faild like 6 moth later taking out my raid zero... i mostly played diablo 2 but alot of the old but gold games too. loved ut thow. my friend had a 486 that we did alot on surprising...
  14. i spy with my little eye something that is red... nice build. i had like 4 Mario figers and they kept falling over so that was the end of that... i thought having all my consoles in a server rack would be cool but is turning out to be pnta... my original idea was hdmi but that didnt work so now i got like a million rca cables everywhere... oh well
  15. ya but sound gos up, cost gos up, uses more power all for like 2c... its not worth it like ever. only if you have no space to add more rads. the cost to buy another rad would get way more temp drop for your money even if you add $5 fans on it. its looks cool thow thing to note is ek fans cost like $25+ each so thats like $75 in fans...
  16. over paying for a gen4 mb i agree gen 3 being slower then gen 4 i disagree. 4% not worth it.
  17. i would flip the side fan so it exhaust or remove it ya a cpu cooler would be a huge upgrade and then i would put a fan in the top front as intake. its posable to mount a fan in the 5.25 bay just might not look as nice. you can get a 3d printed mount but they cost alot. there one on ammazon for like $15.
  18. a upgrade to the cooler will give the most temp drop and posably lower noise but with the 3000 rpm fan probly dont care about noise. the 200mm fans should be quiet thow. what case do you have?
  19. if your already buying a new mb with gen4 then w/e but you said pcie 3 is "Infinitely slower". then gen 4 witch is not true. atlest for gpus. so its not a point to bring up. the difference tested was 1-4%
  20. emulator or snes/sega mini. thow there are fakes out there... i whent down the rabit hole of getting the console to work.... not worth it imo i guess you could like mod a wii to emulate as well probly the cheapest way.
  21. hmm i watch the clip is 25mps enough and got an video idea. i dont no how you would do it but you could build a fast pc and slower pc and see what the speed is like installing a os on an old system vs a new one is it faster. can also show say load time in games. also said about how fast you enet is i dont no if you can limit it? and see how fast is enough? dont no just an idea hard part is to get an appals to appals pc to compare say ddr3 vs 4 and so on. but for like slow hdd vs fast hdd vs slow ssd vs fast ssd vs m.2 vs nvme kinda deal? could also test the os too to see if new os are faster (i no your forced in to using it) but alot of people say there old system is snapper...
  22. so ambient temp and water temp are a one to one meaning one c in ambient means you have 1 c hotter in the loop meaning less room. normally people have ambient at like 16c to21ish and set there stuff up at load between 75c and 85c. new stuff runs hotter. so i dont no if adding even more rads would get you more cooling when ambient is so hi. i could be wrong thow imo. i think in that case you need to cool the room. with water cooling you can dump the heat els were thow. so you most likely need a low power pc and even under volt it in hopes to not thermal throttle. the thing about water cooling is it will dump more heat in to the room then heating it more... bigger the fan the worse it is for rads. so 120mm or 140mm hi rpm should work. some one correct me if im wrong plz posably you need more rads, more flow, faster fans, under volt to get more cooling. in this case you giving up hi rpm fans for more rads. how much you need i dont no.
  23. pci3 vs 4 is a myth the 3 fps is margin of error...
  24. that back fan is needed for the gpu as it exhaust it hot air at the side. if you case has bottom fans it can help move some of it up and out the top but if you dont have bottom fans then the back fan in needed.
  25. well no there lots of people that hate Nintendo thats why they emulate it. speed is not only the problem they want to fix it and preserving the game too. there just too many modern things to emulators. even on the go they will buy a steam deck and emulate on that... i did learn that alot of nintendo games shutdown when gamespy went bust so it may have not been nintendo...
