  1. I Recently Built My Upgrade PC, But Having Problems With My "ASUS Prime X470-Pro". ASUS has used the USB 3.1 Gen2 socket type, which I have an adapter for the front of my case, which converts it to 2 x USB 3.0 ports. Problem is, only one of the ports work, the other one is dead, not even getting power. I used an ohm meter, and all the lines on the cable are good, and am curious if anyone else is having this problem.
  2. FREAKING WINDOWS 10 - Last update deleted my Power Options, so instead of being on High Performance it was at balanced, which was cutting power to my graphics card on demand. So thanks for the responses guys, this crap is all on Microsoft and their highly NEGLIGENT update practices.
  3. The CPU testing I did with IntelBurnTest ran for 12 hours, no errors on the CPU side, but the GPU did crash 14 times according to the Windows Error Log, but no warnings were ever displayed, all 3 of my screens just kept going off and on, and even GPU-Z didn't show those crashes either, as it's results were clean and steady. I am starting to wonder if Windows 10 is causing this mess. I heard a couple other people have 3 display problems with Windows 10, but it only started after the previous Windows 10 update, (Not the creator update, I am still in defer mode on that one) I just finished vacuuming out the system, it needed it, and re-seated the GPU and all the power connections from the PSU, just getting ready to run a few test now. I will drop the OC back to default, and see if it cleans it up a bit. That OC was 100% stable for 4 years with temps below 72C, I hope that isn't the problem, as I do a lot of rendering, and I was getting about 15-20% improvement with the OC. Thanks for the responses, let me know if you have any other thoughts, I will try to update after I do a few more tests this evening. This is my Primary system, so I am in kind of a pinch.
  4. ~System Information~ MOBO: ASUS P8Z77V-Pro CPU: 3770K PSU: EVGA 1000G1 GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1070 RAM: Corsair Vengence 4x8GB (32GB total) OS: Windows 10 Pro (Pre Creators Update) If I am rendering a scene in Blender3D(using GPU) my screens flash a bit like they are refreshing, then the application freezes, leaving Windows log with GPU TDR error, yet I have TdrLimit sec to 10 seconds. When I am using IntelBurnTest (High), my temps are staying great, but my GPU keeps crashing with the same Tdr error I was getting during a GPU render cycle. So I am at a loss on which component is actually causing the problem. The GPU is is less then a year old, and the rest of the PC is just over 3 years old, never had any heating problems on anything. Anyone have any clues of what to check first, because I have less then a $100 to even put into debugging/parts. I Initially thought is was the CPU, which I had OC'd to 4.5Ghz but my temps even under load never went above 72C, and even then it was never there very long. It just seems like whenever the CPU is taking on a load, the GPU gets starved out, but the error it is throwing is only for communication sequencing, and I am not even getting flagged with a problem by Windows like I was during my use with Blender3D. So, I am at a loss on this one. I am giving it a cleaning today, and re-seating a few things, but hope someone will have an idea if it continues, because it is getting worse everyday.
  5. That is actually really strange, as when I did my testing just on multiplier without changing anything else, my temps never move more than a degree C. The multiplier must by pushing your CPU to the upper limit of you CPU Voltage, I know there is some slop in voltage on demand, but never seen temps jump that high from it. (More Info) My 3770K might be an odd one. currently I am running BCLK at 102.2, CPU Voltage 1.315, and multiplier at 52 (5,200MHz), liquid cooled of course, which is like 5.2+GHz, and after 24 hour load test, temps never went above 71C, and my water cooler is a Corsair H100i. I haven't found anyone running this high, but it has a catch, I can run it like this for days on end, but I can't reboot with those settings because it fails to post. I have to switch back and forth between profiles on the EUFI, but I have never once gotten an error during heavy loads on the system, and this processor will have 4 years of use on it in June. But back to your issue, I have no idea what is going on with your temps, because it really should not be climbing that high without additional CPU Voltage.
  6. Don't play with the voltage, don't bother with BaseClock, just bump up your Core Multiplier to 41 or 42 and run a load test. You should still replace the stock cooler, because even a $20 cooler is way better then a stock cooler.
  7. What sucks about this is I got the card for $16, because I didn't care about the speed, just needed to add a few storage drives, and I could have gotten the next step up from LSI for $24 at the time, and apparently would have saved myself the hassle.
  8. I tried 3 of the slots with the same result, and that slot right below my graphics card actually took out the other sata controller so I couldn't even boot up until I removed the card. It does show a splash screen at boot up, but it disappears so fast that all I can see is Marvell at the top and then it is gone. the pause button doesn't even stop it, because the keyboard at that point is not even initialized.
  9. I recently installed a PCIE SATA expansion card to extend my PC's ability to connect up to 12 drives at once. But upon boot up, the Expansion card worked on all 4 ports, but it killed 4 of the existing ports on the Motherboard. When I removed the card, all 8 of the motherboard ports were functioning properly. My motherboard is an ASUS P8Z77VPro with an i7 3770K, and the SATA Expansion Card is a IOCrest (SI-PEX40064) 1x PCIE, with 4 ports. The drivers it came with do nothing for having access to settings for the card. Windows Device Manager does show all 3 Sata Controllers, 2 MOBO and 1 PCIE, but it will only let me enable 2 of them at any one time. I am thinking that Marvell SUCKS at controller cards, as that's what I have been discovering on most forums on this topic. Any hints would be appreciated. If this topic is already created somewhere on the forum, please let me know where, as the search engine wasn't showing anything for SATA, but of course during the search, the site kept timing out. Thanks.
  10. It looks like a great short range projector, can't wait to see one in my living room, wink wink.
  11. I'm running a i7-3770K at BClock:100.6 CPUVoltage:1.125V, Multiplier:45 (4526MHz) and at load, only pulling 69C. My Extreme OC on the 3770K, BC:101.2, CPUVoltage as 1.33, multiplier of 48, (4828MHz) which under load was just tipping 79C (IntelBurn Test), and that is only being cooled with the old H100i liquid cooler. And my Extreme OC I use daily, and my temp logging rarely hits the 70sC. Not sure if my 3770K was just a good one, because I have only found a few that have achieved these levels and not burnt out the CPU. I have been running on my 3770K for 2 1/2 years, and it has been competitive in performance, as CPU advances really haven't moved that far in comparing Quad Core Processors. When I ran Cinebench, I also had Firefox, HWMonitor, Gimp, Blender(2.77a), and I still got a 786. (Update, second image is Cinebench with nothing else running)
  12. I wasn't worried at all, as the email I received clearly said this was going to be a NEW Channel SuperFun. And even when you make the occasional videos for NCIX, we all knew it was paid for content. I think people fly off the handle way to easily in this day and age. Dividing True Comments for Trolling Comments is never an easy deal.
  13. Thanks for this video. I getting mine in 2 days, and now have Charter Spectrum 100/20Mbit internet, bypassing municipalities in my area, since only Mediacom is available at my home, I contacted a buddy, and had my Charter service installed at his house, and will be beaming it to mine, at just over 4 miles away, and according to all the instructions I have been reading, it should be a breeze.
  14. Boot with an SSD is the only way to go. Boot speed in Windows 10 is less than 25 seconds, updates and installs are quick, and drive maintenance is low. One of these New Apacer SSDs would be a great addition to my rig.
  15. They look pretty cool, just like the Specs.
