  2. That's why I love my new ISP's logic (Hyperoptic), if they run out of speed at a building or a node, they'll just increase capacity instead of being a whiny bitch like the rest of the world.
  3. Interesting x11 God the internet is a fucked up place... "We're the future"...
  4. But the m7 design was so good... now its another rip-off looking device most users won't touch because it looks like the iphones anrdoid users despise..
  5. In UK, on an average walk through a city centre you're caught on 300+ cameras. Now, here's the important info: Most of those cameras don't record sound, Most of these are sub 480p quality, Only 1 in 1000 crimes in UK is solved by using CCTV footage It is still one of the simplest forms of crime prevention, because potential criminal don't know these stats. It's a good thing there are all those cameras because they belong to thousands of different companies and it's impossible to track where you go without a metric butt ton of work to even get footage from people. They should look at the online privacy Cameron wants to get rid of so badly instead of using something that works well as a fog for some another asshole move.
  6. Negative. I lived in an apartment as a student for 2 years, and just got the 100mbps in my flat installed. They usually go for big complexes (by building has 270+ flats) because its cost effective. So as long as your building is big and fairly new, they might have it on radar.
  7. Because 1gb is quite a bit more expensive, and I have nothing that could possibly utilize either the up or the down speed of 1gbat tge moment. Besides, ive just graduated and need to stabilise my financial ass before I start getting all fancy technology.
  8. Game engines are generally oriented towards certain genres, with Unreal e.g. having a lot of pre-built tools for FPS and TPP games, has its own code-less "language" for scripting and is overall powerful as fuck. Unity is not as powerful as an engine, but has much bigger community with tools to allow development of anything, anywhere on the platform. I personally am not a fan of the drag and drop interface that doesn't expose you to all innards of an engine. I work in OGRE3D with a mix of plugins on code-level as a way to learn about engines, how they work, how to expand them etc. It's more difficult, you can't slap a game together in a week, but you can build whatever you want however you want it to be.
  9. And I'm just sitting here with brand new Hyperoptic 100mbps symmetrical connection.
  10. How old is your SSD? And yeah, there's no point hibernating on SSDs unless you need to return to exact moment in some application the next day (RTS 1v7 very hard AI mid-game without saves?).
  11. Hibernation dumps your RAM on C: So you get up to (enter your RAM here) worth of writes per hibernation. If you do it once every few days it won't really do anything.
  12. pro tip: int a = rand()%1000; //will return 0-999;int b = 1+rand()%999; //will return 1-999;//Function for generating random number in specified rangeint getRandInt(int minVal, int maxVal){ return minVal + rand()%(maxVal-minVal+1);} Quick explanation: Since you want value between A and B, you need at least A. So A is you minimum value. On top of that, you want to add a random value that's smaller or equal to the difference between B and A, so you do a modulo of a random value, where the modulo is (B-A). To generate value between 50 and 100, you'd do 50 + rand()%(100-50), which means you get 50 as base, + a random number between 0 and 49 ( 50 mod 50 is 0), resulting in 50-99. Finally, to get to 50-100 range you simply add 1 to the modulo total like so (B-A+1) to include maxVal in the range (results in 50 + 0-50 because formula becomes rand()%51).
  13. PC world is absolute shit. Keep it exclusive to online shops.
  14. It does look unnatural. We need soft-body dynamics for that, and no Xbox or immense levels of cloud will enable this, at least in this generation (of consoles, PC mustard race all the way).
  15. Ignoring the non-European goof, mafia was always about climbing into the white elite. From stereotypical, racist 20s to post-war with the society gap. Mafia III made a similar time jump (30-ish years), but they fucked with the formula way too far. This looks like a GTA clone from the 1st shot. A white rich guy, a Trevor style chaotic character, a black guy to fill the "racial correctness" box, and after the Ubisoft rape they've thrown in a woman to fill in the "not-sexist" box, and made her black to get additional "brownie points" (pun intended). Lastly, Mafias radiate some level of class. This here, as @Humbug said is a gang-like setup. I wouldn't mind the unnecessary character mixup if they did it in Pulp Fiction style, where everyone involved had a more... fearsome yet respectful appearance and approach. i r8 3/8 m8 no h8 gr8 b8.
  16. Because they all will. To compensate for the amount of shit falling apart, they have to simplify the detail. Everything will be in the traditional "squareish" shapes, I guarantee.
  17. A straight ctrl+f of the "we will access" on the services agreement returns 0 results. I've done the same search after Tek Syndicate's rant about it. It's not there. Same goes for ToS. These quotes ARE NOT THERE. I understand the race to post first, but please read as much as you type before you do it.
  18. Sort of disappointed the moment I've noticed a black girl in the reveal image. Looks like political correctness is creeping up the in no way politically aligning mafia world...
  19. Zuckerberg doesnt. He prefers monies. Lots of them.
  20. *Grabs the top of tin foil hat and squishes it to make an antenna* I know. I'm using whatsapp myself, which is ironically owned by FB. But it's a lot harder to fuck with you in a chat window with single person than on the "wall" that contains posts of potentially hundreds of "friends". I'll stop here before I go on a 2000 word rant about it *left eye starts twitching uncontrollably*
  21. It's not about enjoying it, because sure as hell it's convenient and easy to use. It's about the trade-off. After they've changed the policy on new years eve I've deleted mine... and their social experiments on hundreds of thousands of accounts without their consent only support my decision. Facebook is great if you look at its definition, but in practice it's not as colourful. Just like communism. You don't need a flagship device to call someone, but I see your point. And imo, your 9gag example isn't content theft. Hardly anything found on these websites has value on its own and most of these re-posts are re-posts of re-posts of of something someone made without caring about copyright. In fact, they thrive one people willingly giving their "work" away and hoping to get a "You got 5000 likes!" notification. It thrives on giving a positive vibe to people, just like FB. And when it comes to an occasional comic or art piece copied from e.g. deviantart, they often end up being sourced in comments. I of course ignore the fact that whatever the law says, stuff that's freely available and downloadable on the web will get "freebooted" all over the place whether you like it or not, because that's the definition of internet that you (the artist) chose as the money farm.
  22. Fuckbook. Delete the account. If you need communication use your phone, you get unlimited plans anyway. Unless of course you're so socially awkward you're scared of talking on the phone at the age of 30odd.
  23. Good they have a lens... My HTC One version of this crap is absolutely useless when you have to zoom the slightest bit.
