Desk Build With Twist [Planning]

This build is not going to happen just yet, i dont have money or time or space just yet, so things may change later on if new hardware comes out.
Just need some advice, guidance and opinions on plan/design.

This will be my first build, tips/tricks welcome.

Budget & Location:

Trying to stay round £1400 [as I have allocated about £250 to materials and labour], UK is my place residence.
Aim/Use:

I'm a dabbler of many things really, but heavy use is mainly photoshop, 3D modling, gaming (vast array of different games really), programming, simulations, uni work. light use is listening to music, net surfing etc...
Monitors:

I plan on having 2 monitors then in future 3 monitors. 1080p res. for possible surround gaming (when i get a 3rd monitor) but i'll just game on one screen, and have one screen portrait for coding and reading etc..
Peripherals:

May need some speakers (cheap 5.1 surround ones really) but thats is undecided.
OS:

Win 8 (or 8.1)
Other Info:
- I prefer Intel CPUs but if people think an AMD CPU will do well enough for me then I'll consider it.
- I'm going to try overclocking.
- I will need a wireless card.
- This is a desk build, so i only need a cheap case to remove mobotray and other things.

- I perfer to buy from amazon.co.uk [if i can save >= £10 then i will buy from somewhere else, if its reliable].

CPU:

Intel Core i7-4770K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor
CPU Cooler:

Corsair H100i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
Motherboard:

Asus Z87-DELUXE ATX LGA1150 Motherboard [i like the wireless ac implementation]
Memory:

Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 Memory [room to expand]
Storage:

Samsung 840 Series 250GB 2.5" SSD [OS and programs]
Crucial V4 64GB 2.5" SSD [cache for storage]
Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM HDD [2 in RAID 1 for mass storage and backing up]
Video Card:

Asus Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition 3GB Video Card
Power Supply:

EVGA SuperNOVA 750W 80 PLUS Gold Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply
http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/1GJI5   comes to £1615 [£1643 in case of price fluctuations], for all parts.

This is my desk design, with PC built in, as you can see its not a proper/stereotypical built-in desk pc but more of a added modual set to the side in a wooden casing, but i dont like the super thick desk so this is how gone about it.

Built with the components I listed above.

the design I am thinking about [random circuit diagram]

post-16156-0-22375900-1379952050_thumb.g

this is to show how it may look in red/black style

post-16156-0-78144100-1379952062_thumb.j

a more realistic concept version [photoshoped to compare red vs blue, JordanMac's pic and he had blue]

one thing you might want to consider is fans based on airs natural movement. i.e. hot air rises. i feel like there may be too many fans in that system for your comfort (it will be pretty close to you)

so maybe some bottom mounted fans and some low low low rpm fans on the top just to keep the air moving out the case. other than that, really looking forward to this :) goodluck :)

i'll take that in to consideration, i was thinking something like this for air flow

Yellow perhaps, it all depends what color motherboard you will go for.

I have not seen yellow, it's always the standard red/blue. Maybe abit hard to pull off, but why not give it a go?

Looks very great so far, really like the sketching so far. Altho, I think i prefer a desk without round edges, I prefer corners (but that's personal)

i reeeeeaaaaalllyyyyy like that flow a ton more than the original. on suggest though, the right side intake is simple redudancy as it will solely bring cold air to your cpu so unless your loading that area up with rads, cut some of the fans

Thanks, the design and 3d mockup have taken time to produce and clean up.

I prefer the curve in the desk, just because i feel its nicer and more productive to me when it comes to a swivle chair and a keyboard/mouse and work thats to the side of me :P. if i wasnt building this myself and it was like a desk at an office or somewhere else it easy to live with the straight edge corner but as u said its preference [would make it like 5-10min quicker job to make desk it straight corner].

yellow wouldnt be bad at all, i dont know if it would match a grey/black room, could be hard to get right as too much yellow gives it that bee/wasp insect look. Classics said purple which would match grey/black room more imo.

fair enough, i'll probs keep them in so at a later date if/when i dare to custom cool then i'll have a decent place for second rad. also might have them on a low speed to keep the case temp down to stop any warping of plastics and wood, and keep them quiet.
