levitsak9

Budget & Location:

Maximum- 65k INR /India

Aim:

3D and VFX work and some casual gaming

Monitor:

Would want one (1080p) and no upgrading

Components requirement:

Motherboard,GPU,CPU,PSU,RAM,CASE,HDD(1 TB),Cooler

Please also consider how I want money to spent:

GPU>CPU>MOTHERBOARD>RAM>PSU>CASE>COOLER

And obviously a monitor.

Plus I would be using it for at least 3 years and it would be nice if the processor is of latest gen. !

     Thank you.   :)

does your 3d software support gpu acceleration? and if it does you need to find out which gpu is best for it.

I would go for

i5 6400

mid range asrock 170 board

some ram that has good price to speed ratio, normally 3000-3200 is best for this

r9 390 or gtx970 depending on your software

a small air cooler like the 212 evo will be fine, but look at other brands as well. try to find a single tower cooler with 6 heatpipes for the same price as the 212 evo.

500w psu will be fine for a 970, but you might want 550-650w for an r9 390

you can choose any case that fits your cool in really :)

Rig Specs:

AMD Threadripper 5990WX@4.8Ghz

Asus Zenith III Extreme

Asrock OC Formula 7970XTX Quadfire

G.Skill Ripheartout X OC 7000Mhz C28 DDR5 4X16GB

Super Flower Power Leadex 2000W Psu's X2

Well, here's a parts list anyways, no clue what would be available over there, but in any case firepro cards are usually a decent bang for your buck for workstation cards, although I know that a 380 costs as much as a 970 in india for some reason last I looked

also your CPU is going to be more important than your GPU most likely, it also depends whether you need OpenCL or CUDA, but OpenCL is generally more widely supported, just not as optimized for.

my suggestion, get a good card and good processor, everything else can take a compromise.

get a 4790k and a 970. anything higher than 4790k is too high, anything lower than it is just not worth it for rendering, anything lower than 970 is 700 series, but 700 series is expensive, anything higher than 970 is also expensive, if you are not into gaming then go for 960 for just rendering.

And what about R9 390 ,isn't it worth for cache that after affects generates or for view port rendering?

If you aren't doing much gaming you should look around for a firepro card, something like a W4100 or W5100

for 4790k? when you are rendering it, it will need some kind of after market cooling.
