What is the best season to buy computer parts

mitsosvazelos84

Hello guys ,

I was thinking about buying a xeon  e3 1231 v3 for my gaming rig because you know , black Friday / cyber Monday . Anyway , what is the best period to buy new hardware ? I am also trying to get an r9 390 for the same rig .

Oh by the way if you have a better cpu for more or less the same price feel free to make a suggestion :)

thank you in advance ,

The best time is the time you need an upgrade give or take a few weeks.

No, prices are likely to increase quite a bit tomorrow. I think it'd be crazy to buy a 1231v3 right now for $250 when you can get a 4790k for $300 today from newegg. I have the 1231v3 myself and it's an awesome cpu, but I bought it for $250 last year when the 4790k was $340. November is the best time to buy. December is perhaps the worst, at least based on pricing last year.

Personally, I just look for the best prices at any given time. Within reason of course. If you know there's a sale coming up in a few days, obviously wait. ;)

I'm actually in Canada, but we share the same sale seasons as the US (America). Where are you located?

There are random sales all the time if you keep checking. But the big sales times is just after the US Thanksgiving (which was this past weekend), called "black Friday" and "Cyber Monday". There are usually sales all week prior. Also usually big sales around Christmas time and the week between Christmas and new years (Dec 26th to Dec 31st). Those are the major ones. :)
