Noctua iPPC fans

Should I get these over the originals? The only thing stopping me is that they're louder.

They really are !!LOUDER!! So, if you go there, get the PWM models. But I think, by reducing the speed, you lose more efficiency that you would with the normal Noctuas.

If you want silence, then go for the originals. You can slow down the PWM industrial fan, but at that point you'd have worse performance.

If you are actually using these for servers, I would point you towards Delta Fans.

They'll perform the same as the original ones when slown down to the same speed. There's no point other than the color going for the iPPC ones if you don't need the performance headroom though.

You could also try the new 24V iPPC models, these run slower at 12V: http://noctua.at/en/noctua-introduces-24v-industrialppc-fans

They are louder apparently even at the same rpm as originals. I fully regret getting mine.
