DDR4 Ram speed

So i was looking at some DDR4 ram and I`m not sure if i can use the sticks i want to buy

I`m planning a skylakebuild and I`m using the MSI Mortar B150H

It´s says that it accepts up to 2133 MHZ and the ram I`m looking at is c​rucial ballistix sport 8GB 2400MHz

it will automaticly declock the speed i suppose

All skylake motherboards only "offically" support up to 2133MHz. RAM can run above this speed but it is technically an overclock.

The specs of the board say that it does support XMP profiles. This means that when you boot up the machine, you can select the XMP profile that is stored in your RAM and it will automatically apply the settings to make it run at 2400MHz. Even in the unlikely case that it can't run memory over 2133, then that RAM will be perfectly happy to run at that slower speed. Everything is fine. enjoy your new PC
