What? D: I went to best buy earlier today and tried one out.. One of my friends works there and I love it so much.  I can't say much for the mice or other products but the Tarterus is awsome and the headphones are some of the best in the "Beats by gamers" lineup.

some of their old products were atrocious. their newer keyboards. they are ok quality but the switches on them are crap. i have no experience with their keypads, or keypads in general.

The key switches aren't awful at all.

They're quite nice. I have friends that have gone from Cherry MX Switches to the Razer switches and been extremely happy.

I also use a Razer Keyboard with the keyswitches. It's actually quite nice. (Got a good deal on it)

I play mainly MMOs so like a knob I have the Nostromo, Orbweaver and G13. (Can't possibly use all three what, you have three arms?)

Funnily enough I actually like all three of them, but if push comes to shove I will admit the Orbweaver is easily my favourite of them.

My version is the 2013 Elite which is the Cherry MX blues variant. They're still available new on sites like Amazon and I wholeheartedly recommend it. (If you don't mind spending that money on this kind of item).

I've tried the newer versions with Kailh switches and I dislike them, but this is personal preference.

I've never tried Tartarus so see if you can give one a test run at a shop/friends place - you may or may not find the fit to your liking.

I find them to be extremely cheap kailh chinese immitations. very mushy to me.

I have the Orbweaver and have used one since it's launch. It's actually what got me back into PC gaming. Unless you want something flat with no stick and far less gaming oriented programmability it is by far the best option. I own two of them and also have a tartarus. I miss the additional keys when using it but can make do. But the rubber domes, ICK!

Also G13 is subpar it just about every way. I can go I to that if you'd like as I tested a friends out to compare and it just doesn't.

So the G13, orbweaver or Tartarus are my only options it sounds like... I was hoping for a cheaper option.. ;/

You could try to find the Nostromo or the Belkin version it's based off (n52) from somewhere like eBay.

I find them to be pretty good still, but if your preference is mechanical switches the only option I know if is the Orbweaver.

It's a bit expensive but a worthy investment Imo- but that's going to be up to you to decide. I got my G13 really cheap but I see the price has gone up since.....

I broke down and bought the Chroma from amazon for 71. Itll be here in 2 days =)

Any ideas for what I should do with it or tips? People say the "joypad" (PSP ref,) Is trash and should be used for other stuff, But is it? I had the idea of using it as WASD would be fine. OR better yet, using a controller emulator for 8-way movement. ?

Would also like to get any ideas for the lighting effects or any tips or videos would be nice if anyone has any.

Picked it up in the clearance isle in store, also got a G400s for $15

I remap the pad per game. I could probably show you some of my layouts if you would like so that you can get a better understanding of how I use it but I do remap it per game. Here are some of my layout. They are not the most up to date but they are somewhere to start http://goo.gl/3x0RoK The template for those newer ones were made by @Charger

I use the stick for WASD took a bit of getting used to but I prefer it as it free's up my other fingers.

I use it for movement also - there's an adjustment period, but otherwise I find it to be easy to use.

Bear in mind how many years some PC gamers have been using wasd for movement, they find it hard to adapt to something new for so basic a command.

Oddly enough in Synapse 2.0 some games accept the default Up/Down/Left/Right arrows assignment, whereas others require me to manually remap the Thumbstick directions to a keyboard function (WASD). Perhaps it's a gremlin.

Final question I realized now that you have the thumbpad set to WASD respectively, But. Can you also make the other 4 W+A, A+S, S+D,& D+W ?

Other 4? its only 4 switches. imagine 4 mouse switches with a cross on top and then a nub on the cross.
