Bluestacks isolated?

Would my PC be compromised if I run things in bluestacks? I'm not really sure if it works like a virtual machine, so I'm not that sure

It's like a Virtual Machine.

 

I've used it before.

 

It's pretty good.

Works well, but recently ive been having issues with cough* showbox crashing. But I think this is the app not bluestacks.
