Help Choosing Z170 Motherboard

First time posting.  I'm in the process of picking out parts for my new computer and wanted to get recommendation on the which motherboard to choose.

 

Already decided parts for computer:

Intel 6600k

Cooler Master Mastercase Pro 5 Mid Atx case

GTX 970 GPU

EVGA 750W PSU

Corsair H100i GTX AIO Water cooler

Samsung SSD

G.Skill Ripjaws V DDR4 Ram

 

I'm really just looking to decide on the motherboard.  I have the manufactures narrowed down to Gigabyte and Asus and the boards I am deciding between are:

Looks will be determining factor if 2 motherboards are effectively the same but quality of motherboard is much more important.  I will be gaming on the computer but I will be using the computer for other things as well (am a software engineer so sometimes will do other processor intensive work).  For overclocking, initially I will not be doing it but eventually plan to for fun, nothing extreme though, just basic overclocks.   Only main difference I can really tell between Gigabyte and Asus is that Gigabyte uses Intel's USB3.1 controller which I hear is better.  Any more recommendations on which motherboard to get is much appreciated.  Thank you

i like asus over gigabyte

especially the ROG boards have high reliability and long term support

so go with the Maximus Hero if you have money
