Monitor Help

I wasn't sure whether to put this in the console section or not but I thought that the 'General Discussion' thread would have more traffic.

 

Since I've obtained a computer monitor I decided to try and connect one of my consoles to it (PS3 and X360) due to better latency. I did this with a HDMI to VGA adapter due to my monitor's lack of a HDMI port. I connected it and it seemed to be fine but then the monitor kept going blank, popping up again momentarily and then going blank again and then staying up for 10-15 seconds and then it would restart a seemingly never endless cycle. 

 

I'll tinker around with the monitor's setting for a little while and see if that helps but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like the monitor mite be bugged
