New laptop

mckendry1011

I am looking at getting a new laptop and don't know what to buy. I have had a look at the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 highest spec abnd also the Dell XPS 13 highest spec (That's like i7, 8gb ram and 512gb SSD on both). It will be used for power-hungry software (Visual-Studio, Hyper-V) and for Microsoft Office and internet browsing and light gaming.

Do you know what games you're playing? Also, please provide the full specifications of the computers that you're going to buy.

Maybe consider a laptop with a i7 4720HQ instead of a low powered version?

Games such as Chivarly and Injustice. I don't know what to buy just anything high spec.

There isn't really a budget so just anything!

  I don't really have a budget.

I will be playing games such as Chivarly and Injustice. I haven't really chosen a laptop yet so any spec will do.

I'd rather look at something like this http://www.amazon.com/MSI-15-6-Inch-GE62-APACHE-PRO-219/dp/B00YQNRVQS/ref=sr_1_3?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1440750672&sr=1-3&keywords=MSI+GE62

It has a more power CPU and GPU and more importantly still looks thin enough without comprising thermals.

Would the Dell XPS 13 highest spec be good enough

The problem is that it still has a low power processor. I'm not sure how intensive Visual-Studio and Hyper-V are, but I'd rather be safe and go with a high power processor and decent gpu.

Ordered it on 20-8 and it will be delivered on 10-9, so that kinda sucks

That's high end gaming laptops for you (that's why against all the hate macs get, I still buy them). But, if you find any laptops with a processor good enough for his requirements tell me.
