Larger then 27" 21:9 or nothing?

Dimetime35c

Is the 21:9 display size the only option for anything past 27inches? I REALLY don't like the 21:9 as the physical height of the monitors screen is way to small for my liking. I like a monitor that's as high as it is wide, or as close to it as possible. I hate the super wide monitors that have little to no physical vertical height.

Yeah they are mainly now a days (It was 29" when they were first coming out, now people mainly look at 34" for 3440x1440), in fact a 34" 21:9 has the same height as a 27" 16:9 which for me is perfect.

I guess the OP wants even more height  :o

Idk if its an optical illusion but I swear the 21:9 display cuts more off the verticel range then a 16:9 display. It just looks a lot shorter.

How so? As in physical height, or as in content that fits on the screen? Because it's still x:9.

Height wise, you get the same content fitting in the same physical space with a 3440x1440 34" 21:9, as you do with 1440p 27" 16:9

Maybe it is because of the extra length that you feel less content is actual on the screen or it's smaller physically, but in reality it should be the same  :o

If you want more height physically though then there are up to like 55" monitors available lol (Although when you get passed like 32" they tend to be 4k not 1440p)

The Asus PB328Q is a great monitor imo with a 32" 16:9 format. Or even the BenQ BL3200PT

He means, are there displays larger than 27" besides 21:9 monitors?

The answer is yes, you can get 32" or 40" 16:9 monitors, although options are fairly limited. Maybe look at the Acer B326HK, the LG 31MU97, the Samsung U32E850R, or the BenQ BL3200PT or BL3201PT (or PH, name depends on region).
