z3 double battery life, great software support from sony, decent camera, waterproof

iphone 6 good software, good screen, decent camera

software wise I would probably install CM or  AOKP or some other custom ROM

why? sony rom is already almost stock looking and it gets constant updates.

I had an iPhone 6 and it was stolen in Italy

I will probably get a totaly (waterproof) guarantee for this one (no matter the cost)

It alls comes down to your preferred OS. For me, it would be an iPhone (as long as I don't have a limited budget)

Depends on what your needs are.

 

The iPhone is simple to use, looks great and is just good in every way. It doesn't excel at any one bit and doesn't have the most comprehensive feature list, but it's simple and it just works.

 

The XPERIA is probably the one I'd go for. It looks great, has a nice UI, has a nice feature list and is waterproof and dustproof. Camera is alright though not the very best and there may be a slight learning curve but ultimately, the reason why I'd choose the XPERIA boils down to the great battery life and IP65/68 certification.

Either way, pretty much all the privacy settings will be the same. If you wanted to turn off all the "spying" settings like location or history, they'd be present in both OS's. So saying that you're fine with iPhone doesn't really make sense as they both collect that data.

Why do you even create a topic about the iPhone 6 vs the Z3 if your choice has been already made from the start ?

 

My choice would be the Z3 because I own a Z3 Compact and love this thing to death. I love Android ecosystem and I generally like what Google does compared to Apple. Sony's ROM is very good.

 

If you don't like Google or Android, then don't look at the Z3...
