I7-4770k & MSI Z87-G41 OC Problem

Aesthesis

Hello,

So some years ago I upgraded to i7-4770k and MSI B85-G41 PC Mate as it was cheap mobo which advertised that it had overclocking capabilities. Oh what a mistake I seem to have made... Now when I got liquid cooling (Corsair H100i) and would like to go from 3,90GHz to 4,20GHz, the OC menu is just greyed out in bios and I can't access it at all. I tried googling and found out that they disabled overclocking entirely because it was so minimal what you could achieve with this mobo or something.

So I basically wasted my money by getting this motherboard or is there a way to OC with this motherboard without breaking it? I find it really annoying that there was advertisements everywhere that you can EASILY overclock with this motherboard.

Seems like such a waste to have an unlocked processor and I can't even seem to be able to overclock this because of this motherboard. Just want a slight OC for gaming. What new motherboard would you recommend me to buy? I only wanna overclock to 4,20GHz or possibly 4,50GHz if my temps allow.

Edit: Sorry the motherboard was MSI B85-G41, not Z87-G41. Can't edit the title.
