Need help with my new pc gaming build

Hi it's my first time building a PC gaming, My budget is about $1500 &  need to buy monitor 1040p

really bad build. i7 for gaming and a GTX 960 isn't balance. get an i5, and something like an R9 390, or GTX 970

That CPU and RAM is waaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy overkill for that graphics card. My personal suggestion would be to get the cheapest i5, a cheap but decent motherboard, 8-12gb of RAM depending on your usage and habits, and getting a GPU in the range of 390 or 390x to 970. Unless for some reason you want nVidia, get the AMD options as they perform better from what I've read. The PSU may be OK but I would opt for a 650w+ PSU for upgrades and to not be maxing it out.  Consider an SSD. They improve the user experience a hell of a lot as it makes everything very snappy (for example at startup, google chrome will open instantly instead of taking 10 or so seconds) SSDs make things load faster as well.

before i suggest a build, i need the following:

 

which country are you living in?

do you require an os, monitor, keyboard, speakers, headphones and/or mouse?

what is your total budget?

do you want to game on 1080p or 1440p and at which settings?

keep the 5820k if you like multitasking like crazy WHILE gaming (like myself)

 

I was using a i5 before and the difference in power is insane.

 

Also if you want to OC that thing (which you should) that cooler won't be able to handle it imo.

 

And for gods sake dont buy a 960, save up and get a 970 or go for a 280X now.

 

One more thing, you should really consider an SSD it's a must have in todays builds.

 

PS: You did not put a monitor in there.

 I live in indonesia so things tend to cost a little more expensive, lol

I just need a mouse, keyboard, speakers are cheap, with the exception of 1040p monitors at moderate prices, the overall cost does not exceed $1500

well for X99, that motherboard is fine. but if you're getting something like a 4690K or 4790K, get a Z97 board

I will not use Intel Core i7-5820K because it exceeds $ 1,500, I will use the Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz & mobo z97 it cost $1392
