Halp! Can't get a used Radeon HD 6770 to output

D2Disciple

Hey all,

Just purchased a used XFX Radeon HD 6770 1GB GDDR5 card off of eBay to serve as a modest upgrade to my old GeForce 8600GT (yeah, been out of the PC building thing for quite a number of years). Bought it from a reputable source with a 45-day money back guarantee. Card looks barely used, very clean, and was packaged very safely.

Anyway, got it, hooked it up to my 6-pin PCIE power supply adapter, and plugged it in. Boots up, fans spin, but no output via HDMI.

So then I use a DVI-HDMI adapter to see if I can get any output by the two DVI ports. No dice. Tried three monitors/televisions.

Reinstalled the old GeForce and manually uninstalled the nVidia drivers. Still nothing.

Put BOTH cards in and set the BIOS to pick up the secondary PCIE slot (the Geforce) to be the primary display so I could try to install drivers for the Radeon. Neither will output.

In all situations, slapping the Geforce alone in the first PCI slot alone results in me getting my display. Anything else I should try? Or should I chalk this up to a bad gamble and pay to have it shipped back?

I got one off ebay. gtx 660. Works well and is in sli now. You need to have them test. I had them test and send me proof and dates.

Just because you don't care, doesn't mean other others don't. Don't be a self-centered asshole. -Thank You a PSA from the people who do not say random shit on the internet.

Haha. I knew I was taking a risk. I wouldn't do this for a Titan.

Thats why I bought from a business instead of an individual, got a money-back guarantee. Worst case scenario I'm out the cost of shipping it back and some time I would've spent using my old 8600 GT anyway.
