Windows 8.1 64 bit automatic maintenance will not finish

So my automatic maintenance won't finish no matter how long I leave it. I never had this problem before and it would always finish. Now it just says maintenance in progress when I start it and it won't finish, I even left it over night.

I tried restarting the computer, stopping the maintenance then starting it again, etc. and nothing seems to help.

Does anyone know why this is?
