What speaker setup should I get?

Hi, I am planning on buying a new set of speaker for my PC (Mostly music, gaming and YouTube)  and was wondering weather I should get a 2.0, 2.1 or 5.1 audio setup?

5.1 > 2.1 > 2.

But decent 5.1 will cost you kidney.

What is your budget and what are you using the most?

I'm looking anywhere up to $300 AUD, however I mostly use my system for gaming and tend to use headphones when I game.

I went with a 2.1 setup cause of room constraints in my bed room, ill watch the occasional movie on my pc, but i mainly do music, youtube and gaming, my movie watching is in the home theater

If you have a small room i'll recommend 2.1. 

 

I had to choose for a 5.1 and 2.1, I went with 2.1  (the JBL Creature III) And never regretted it after 4 years
