Should I order the Asus Zenfone 2?

So my current phone (LG Optimus L7 P705) is acting up majorly again, and its also time for a new phone. I have been looking at the Asus Zenfone 2 (5inch version) which has just gone up on Amazon, and if I was to get it, i would have to ship it to a U.S. postal box which then ships it to Australia.
I have two questions.

1) Will this version of the phone work on the Optus network in Australia?

2) Is it worth getting it on Amazon US or should I wait for it to come out in Australian markets?
