And on the Wii U you can use the virtual thing meaning that you can play NES, SNES, N64 and Wii games.

Mario Kart 8 is a great family game for 4 players and highly recommend it, hours of great fun!

Assuming you're not going for used, I don't think there are "three" options to pick from. If you looked online for a "Wii" right now the only option you'll likely get is a premium, 32GB Wii U. Probably the Mario Kart 8 bundle one because that's the most common bundle. Also it's 2015, the Wii U has been out for a while now. There's full backwards compatibility so you can play Wii games on it but the Wii U is NOT a Wii. It's no more a Wii than the PS4 is a PS3.

As for games... in order of what I reckon you should consider (but look up trailers/reviews first):

- Mario Kart 8: 4 players locally and 12 online. And probably in your bundle but if not get it

- Smash Bros: 8 players locally and 4 online. There are no bundles with this but again, get it

- Super Mario 3D World: 4 players locally. The first multiplayer platformer I've played that's not broken

- Bayonetta 2: Single player but one of the best games I've played in a long while

- Splatoon: 2 players locally, 8 online. Comes out next month so keep an eye out because it looks great

- Nintendo Land: 5 players locally. One of the few games that really uses the GamePad.

- Rayman Legends: 5 players locally. 3D World is better but this is still a great game

- Wind Waker HD: Single player again and it's a remaster but... it's also a classic

Fools think they know everything, experts know they know nothing
