Is my WiFi card not letting me get 100mbps?

So I'm having troubles getting the most out of my cable speeds. I have to what I believe to be 120Mbps down connection and for some reason my PC with the wireless adapter: TP-Link TL-WN951N, can only get around 35mbps at most. I have tried a LOT of things to try fix it, here is my thread on trying to fix: (http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2501241/slow-spe...) but nothing has worked.

So my question is: Is my card not able to process up to 100mbps?

I have tried alot of things to try fix and I know I wont get the same through wifi than I did through ethernet, and I know I have atleast a 120mbps connection because of the test I did with ethernet, and before suggesting things to fix it can you please have a quick look at my other thread where i have listed things that i have done and tried.

Link to first thread with details: http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2501241/slow-spe...

Any and all help is appreciated.

Thank you

Have you tried being right next to the router?

What router are you using?

Yeah I have, if you could have a quick look at my other forum, it has the things I have already tried such as moving closer and tested with ethernet and got 112mbps.

I feel like your wireless router might be slowing you here, which model is it?

I don't think it is the router as other devices are getting up to 86mbps when testing but the router is : netgear cg3100d-2

Did you install the program they offer with the adapter? If yes remove it cause it was not working good with windows 8.1 last time i checked.

No I do not have it installed

Did you test the Wireless adapter at the closer range? Why did you test the Ethernet? I thought you wanted to determine if the adapter is faulty or not? :S

Also, how far were your other devices when you tested the wifi? As you know, distance plays a huge role when it comes to wireless performance. Especially if there are many obstacles in the way (ie. walls, other RF devices. etc)

tested ethernet to see if computer itself had something wrong, dont just to rule out anything to do with the PC itself. before I ran the ethernet test, i ran a wifi test from directly next to the router. all the other tests were done from the same location as my PC (my room) where it started.
