Why does everyone (a lot) hate RM PSUs? Whats so bad about them? I've read some reviews on Jonnyguru but they dont seem half bad...

They have bad capacitors for a PSU at that price point.

they're overpriced for what they are. 

 

 

The EVGA G2 series is a better psu (better components) with a longer warranty for less money.

They are good psus, but they are not quite worth the price. I got one for a lot cheaper, but at full price I'd have gone for an evga g2. Again, they are not bad psus, at all, and have a 5 year warranty, so it's not like they're going to fail in a year (and if they do you get a new one), but still, probably not worth the price.

No, unless they are aiming to lose money, they should not. While it is true that you can usually get a better PSU for the same price, but they are not so bad that they should price an mid-range unit against an entry level unit.

yeah i noticed that when i bought my EVGA G2 850w :P

well im glad i didnt buy a Corsair RM...

Because they're a lower end PSU that's marketed as high end.
