Best recording program/settings for good YouTube footage?

I used to use Shadowplay because of it's next to nothing performance hit and minimal file size but it is starting to look bad to me but only because of YouTube compression.

 

What would be the best program to use for good looking videos BUT not a massive filesize like FRAPs or lossless codecs.

FarCry 3 works really nice when recording with my R7 260x 1gb GDDR5

Appreciate the thought but I don't want any lossless codecs, at least until I get a new hard drive.
