What wattage power supply do you recommend?

I'm putting a shopping cart together for a new build and am looking for a power supply for a 5960x, 2 gtx 980s, 32gb ram, x99 deluxe and a ssd and couple 4tb hard drives. I may want to upgrade later or add another graphics card.

I'm curious what power supply and power supply wattage do you recommend in terms of quality and wattage?

I was considering maybe a ax860i or ax1200i

860i should be sufficient, and even with a third 980 because of how little power 980s require (165w).

Case: Corsair 4000D Airflow; Motherboard: MSI ZZ490 Gaming Edge; CPU: i7 10700K @ 5.1GHz; Cooler: Noctua NHD15S Chromax; RAM: Corsair LPX DDR4 32GB 3200MHz; Graphics Card: Asus RTX 3080 TUF; Power: EVGA SuperNova 750G2; Storage: 2 x Seagate Barracuda 1TB; Crucial M500 240GB & MX100 512GB; Keyboard: Logitech G710+; Mouse: Logitech G502; Headphones / Amp: HiFiMan Sundara Mayflower Objective 2; Monitor: Asus VG27AQ

The AX860i will be more than enough for a 5960X and 2 GTX 980s.

You may also want to consider the Corsair HX850i, EVGA SuperNOVA G2 850W or CoolerMaster V850.

you can run 2 680s in SLI and 9 hard drives off of a 600W power supply. you'd be all set with a 750/800/850W, even if you wanted to add some more stuhhhfffff

All the suggestions here are plenty for you.

It's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.
