yea i've heard that the paid version of bitdef is the best so far. in 2014... but im using ESSETxSS/nod32 since ever and never had any problems. but who knows what 2015 can bring on the table.

I've been using Bitdefender since about 2007 now and I've never had any complaints about it. I'm not a fanboy but think it'll take something great from another option for me to change. That being said, I always look around when my year is nearly up. Never hurts to check around and look for better alternatives
