At any price point, intel will perform better for gaming.

If you like to game, you want an Intel processor.  Also, AMD cannot handle anything less than ATX well.

Price breakdown by merchant: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/4r9sK8/by_merchant/

CPU: Intel Core i5-4440 3.1GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($174.99 @ SuperBiiz)

Motherboard: Asus H81M-D PLUS Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($44.99 @ Newegg)

Total: $219.98

Will perform better than any AMD processor, regardless how overclocked it is.

If you're replacing both you might as well just go with Intel.

Might as well change it to an H97 board..

No reason to.  Its a Haswell processor, not Devil's Canyon, and he is trying to keep costs down.  H97 will be more expensive than H81.

As Faceman put it, games favor faster stronger cores rather than weaker cores.

Asking for help and being "too lazy" usually don't mix very well...

He's joking. Since you didn't provide enough information, he took the most expensive stuff he could find.

Only two posts further down, he gave you some more serious advice - but I'd advise going Intel if you can fit it into your budget.

problem will be a decent m-atx board, there arent any decent am3+ m-atx boards unfortunatly.

Basicly a FX8350 with msi 970A gaming board would be a good combo for sony vegas.

But yeah, its not micro atx.

If you want m-atx, you probably need to switch to intel.
