First build ! GTX 980, FX 8350 ect.

So after months of planing and gathering my money it's time, well I already orderd the parts! :D

Sure u can judge me on some parts but hey lets say this is my dream machine that I wanted.

Here is the full spec:

 

CPU- AMD FX 8350 4.00GHz

MBO- Asrock Fatality 990FX Killer

RAM- Kingston HyperX Fury Black 2x4GB 1866MHz

GPU- GTX 980 4GB GDDR5 Reference

HDD- Seagate 2TB

SSD- Samsung 840 EVO 120GB

PSU- XFX 850W Pro

CPU Cooler- Noctua NH D14

CASE- Fractal Design Define R4 White Windowed

 

So yeah didn't want to wait any longer and didn't had more money for Intel CPU I think the AMD will do just fine with gaming, as for the GPU I went with 980 cause it has 4GB and itd power efficient. I think she will do just fine.

GPU, PSU and the cooler have arrived I will put a photo of them below. Other parts will arrive next week cause they didn't had it in stock. I will cover everything, any update I will post it in the forum.

Tell me what u think, any tips and tricks would help. Oh yeah the price in Croatia for this kind of PC is 1770$.

I don't think you can upgrade anything to require that much power in this rig :P Even if you add another 980 or 2.

I mean it's not a bad thing to have a giant PSU in your PC, just kind of a waste :P Could have spent that extra money on a bigger SSD ;)

Well yea, but as I know and some people will agree with me its better to go with more powerful gpu than cpu.... And again the prices in Croatia are different...

Okay, the pc is done! I'm using it right now. 

So lesson number one: I installed cpu ram and the Noctua cooler and didn't think that would I be able to fit the 8-pin power connector on the top when the MOBO has fitted in. So when the time came I somehow managed to plug in the connector by removing the rear exhaust fan. Everything went smoothly with no probs.

Should I overclock the CPU AND GPU ? Should I run some benckmarks ?

How good is the motherboard in terms of bios layout always wanted to give asrock a try.

I'm building my first rig and I think I went overboard on the PSU just as much.
Corsair 860i for a 980 and Haswell-E 5930K...

I suppose I AM running a but-tonne of cooling with possible custom loop in the future.
That i7 at 140W TDP just spooked me.

 

Looking back - I would have opted for the lower-tier i7, but I'm also running a few expansion cards too...

Gotta get 'dem lanes!!!
Who knows - if it holds out as long as my 5-year-old macbook I'll be fine.
