Best linux distro for Athlon x2 5000+ and HD3200

Hi guys, i've tried to instal fedora in my friends pc (specs on the title) but it doesen seem to be compatible with amd processors. I need a compatible linux distro (and i only have a 1gb pendrive for the installer so it has to be light). Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I'd go with either Linux Lite or Zorin Lite. Both very lightweight, yet many features. Here's a tutorial series on Linux Lite by the way.

I love fedora aesthetics... Do you know a similar(amd compatible) one?

may you also share what motherboard (mostly for chipset) is hooked up to these parts.

Also what version of fedora you were trying to install?

Should you so desire here is prety comprehensive list of the distros still supported. Look up the distro name and latest release and see what youtube has to offer for you.

Mostly it just becomes what you like kde/gnome,

Spatry's Cup of Linux does great Linux reviews.  Give his channel a look.

Check out Spatry's Cup of Linux on YouTube. He does great reviews of many different distro's. That and DistroWatch would be where I'd go to find a distro to fit my needs.

Puppy Linux isn't very pretty, but it will run really fast on that hardware (especially if you can put in some kind of HDD).

Dependant on RAM xubuntu would work as well. I run that on an old laptop, good way of extending the life of older hardware!  :)

Even the latest ubuntu should work fine this pc isn't slow maybe the hdd.

Possibly but its still quite intensive, much more than the other variants, would recommend sticking with the 32bit OS if you do go for the standard ubuntu version. Would still recommend lubuntu or xubuntu, I run the latter on an old laptop that could "just" run win7 and it screams with that OS. Piece of advise though, stick with the LTS editions of any of the ubuntu variants, much more stable and stay in support for much longer.
