Friends iphone 4S

My friend basically brought a 4s up blanford show, and for some reason couldnt turn it on. Him being him and useless with technology I said I'd have a look, being an android fan myself I still thought I'd have a play, iPhones are forgein to me .

 

Got it to my house and restored it, afterwards it required us to log in. Another friend thinks it's been iCloud locked and could be stollen or something.

 

Can anyone help with this, returning the phone is out of the qeustion as it was brought at a show/festival whatever. What should we do? Sell it on again or what?

Search up on youtube DFU mode, should allow you to restore the phone.

It's basically a recovery mode.

You'll need to plug it in to your pc and open itunes.

 

Here, googled the step by step instructions:

1. Plug your device into your computer with a USB cable.
2. Turn off the device.
3. Hold the Power button for 3 seconds.
4. Hold the Home and Power buttons for 10 seconds.
5. Release the Power button but keep holding the Home button.
6. After about 15 seconds you will be alerted by iTunes saying that it has detected a device in Recovery Mode
