I'm pretty sure that 19k RPM is impossible, 19k rpm is a turbo fans...

What is your motherboard? maybe you can control the speed in your bios.

Are your fans 3-pin or 4-pin? Because 19k on a fan is not possible I think.

Either faulty sensor or some bug in BIOS/Software.

I have the same issue on a MSI Z97-G43. I already did some analysis of this and i seems that the sensor is just reporting wrong values. The fan does infact not even change its speed when hwmonitor is showing the high speed as current. Since i have also a Corsair (Carbide 500R) case and i assume they use the same fans in all their cases it may also be an issue with the stock fans.

I will change my fans in a few days (switching to noctua NF-F12). I will report back if the issue persists with the new fans, in which case it is a motherboard issue.

Machines take me by surprise with great frequency
