Is Borderlands 2 long w/p DLC's?

If youve got 1-3 mates to play it with its a really fun exp. Playing solo there are better options for FPS.

I'm thinkig about buying Borderlands 2, is it long enough without all the DLC's? I don't want to buy the GOTY edition and not enjoying it, I'm thinking about buying the season pass later.
