Which kind of mouse pad?

I have heard that since I have a laser sensor on my roccat cone xtd, I should have a hard mouse pad, opposed to a soft one. Does anyone know any about this? Does laser track better on hard matts, and optical sensors on soft matts? Or what?

Using a QcK Heavy with my Steelseries Sensei as well, absolutely no problems. Also by far my favorite mouse pad ever (and I've been through Icemat Second Edition, Steelpad 3S Steel among others).

I use no mouse pad as the edges always irritate my skin no matter what the material is.  With that said I can't recommend anything for you op as I don't know enough about them.  However if you live near me buy my COD mouse mats I got for next to nothing.  SteelSeries products.  Gosh forbid I can ever get rid of them.

Too many ****ing games!  Back log 4 life! :S

Any kind of a pad should, especially if its as close to simple black as possible. Hard pads do offer much better glide and some sensors do benefit from it, although the difference most often is not even noticeable.

I think that it should be if you prefer something soft as opposed to something hard under your hand.

I thought it was color that was better for mice. like black for laser and white for optical, or some optical mice like black and some optical mice like white and the same for laser were some like one and some like another.

Thank you guys! I have had bad experiences before, but that was with seriously crappy mice, as well as mouse pads... As I understand the comments, as long as it is mostly unicolored, and comfortable, there shouldn't be a noticeable difference  :)

Though I very much appreciate your offer I think it is rather unlikely that I live close enough to you, as I live in Norway...
