I may have found the worst console port ever...

So we all know that when a PC game starts on a console the ending result isn't always good. Well i'm not talking about a console to PC port gona bad I'm talking about a console to console port gone bad here. Back in 2005 there was a really fun game called Ratchet Deadlocked it was sort of a spin off of the ratchet and Clank series and it was by far one of my favorite PS2 games ever. About a year ago it was re-released to PS3 in "HD" (720P is hardly HD) and this port was just an entire fail altogether.

 

lets go over some problems I have noticed so far...

 

1. Menus are incredibly low quality and don't quite fit the 16:9 screen ratio correctly.

2. Game runs at 60FPS but when the framerate drops no frame skipping is present so the game slows down in speed not framerate and boy does it dip.

3. Some challenges have added stuff or changed stuff so they are sometimes harder or near impossible.

4. Shield gun no longer does damage when AI walk into it causing some challenges to be very hard plus as far as I know you can't level it up without dealing damage.

5. Weapons no longer level up if you replay a challenge.

6. Many ingame rendered cutscenes have z clipping issues big time.

7. All cutscenes rendered in game have skippy animations.

8. Noticeable graphical glitches while playing.

9. Bloom has been removed in many placed and makes the game look worse.

10. Audio sometimes doesn't play or skips.

11. Loading screens have lighting glitches.

12. Many in game assets are noticeably different.

13. Some weapons have been changed in small ways that makes the game hard or not fun.

14. All the interface elements are oversaturated.

15. Cutscenes rendered in real time are missing shadows.

16. Clanks eyelids clip through his eyeballs.

17. Many camera bugs in rendered cutscenes.

 

The list goes on but i haven't played through the entire game yet just a little more than half way. Honestly I love the game and sure its not a perfect port but it plays better than on an emulator and I don't have the original game or my PS2 anymore so this is my only option to play the game correctly. I won't hate on the original game just the guys who were responsible for porting this over to PS3 did what I believe is one of the worst port jobs I have ever seen.

 

Just wanted to point this out for any fans of the game also to show that some of us actually care about quality games and this port was not acceptable. #PCMasterRace

GTA 4 was a mess but I feel like this game is worse I mean these are the kinds of things you fix during beta testing.

It is and the story line is amazing but the port is horrible.The fps is bad and the controls are even worst and lets not talk about camera movement and glitches which again are ... terrible.

It's a simple fix you buy a ps2 and the game on ps2 and throw your ps3 port out the window

Yea its really bad but it's still playable and its still fun I just cant believe that they even released it.

Its hard to find a good PS2 anymore that isnt broken plus god knows where I could find the original game anymore it wasn't exactly a super popular title.

I threw out my working ps2 about a year ago. I thought that they were not worth selling. I now regret that as I now want to play Rachet and clank again.
