GPU water block help!

Hey guys, just wanted to know if the old thermal material from the gpu (R9 290) to cooler is conductive?

I have accidentally got some between some of the small pins on the gpu itself.

Thanks guys!

If you mean the stock paste, probably not.

Hey guys, I'm setting up the watercooling system and i am just a bit confused about this part. The area marked on the GPU aligns with the area marked on the Water block and wouldnt be cooled properly. Is this a problem?

the Black ?? this is the nickle one and the part numbers match up up i'm just confused as the instructions hat came with it show the gpu having a ton more capasitors more than mine and the gray part i have marked out has thermal pads on them from the old cool where as the new cooler is cut out for capasitors and not these smaller digital looking parts

the carve out is for clearance for the ceramic/concrete chokes (do not need

cooling, but the contact surface to the right on first pic is for cooling contact of

the tiny VRM 'FETS

The thing that needs cooling are actually the small flat squares just to the left (opposite side of RAM) of those big cube things.

The cubes can handle cooling themselves, so gpu block makers only need to make clearance for them
