One dead drive causing issues.

Go to solution Solved by WinNut,

Yes, you could buy a drive and format it under the partition manager and assign it to be drive L:.

My friend had a hard drive that he used to keep larger programmes on. Drive L: which died and because the drive is no longer there we are unable to reinstall the programmes because they want the L drive. We have tried installing onto the C drive but the installation fails and continues to want the L drive. No idea how to fix, could we get a new drive and get that to be L?

He is running Win 8

Thanks :D

What I ended up doing is getting the volume list up in the command prompt and removing the old L drive and then assigning the drive letter to the new drive.

Something is taking up the L: you need to show us what is under that dialog box.

I roll with sigs off so I have no idea what you're advertising.

This is NOT the signature you are looking for.
