Alpha online access for 5$?

Ok so I found this on the RSI website. For 5 bucks you get into the alpha, as long as you have beta (which comes with most packages). Is this worth it? I really think this game is going to be absolutely fantastic.

If you want to play the dogfighting module at the moment then yes it is worth it. If you are fine to wait until the beta rolls about (who knows when) then no you don't need it, you only need the ship and the beta access package.

 

I think you will need to do the pass for each separate module as they are released however time will tell if I am correct.

That's correct from what I understand, the early sales came with all alphas and betas but now there is a pass for each module to cover the cost of adding extra server support for the people beyond the original intended alpha size. Though bear in mind ATM they are still rolling out the multiplayer portion of arena commander so only the first 200K citizens have access, potentially more slots opening up next week and slowly expanding in order of citizen number as they prove the servers can handle the load of each release, anyone with access can play the single player Vanduul swarm (bots) and free flight ATM though.
