First build, how did I do?

So I am doing my first build in a few days and I was just seeing if there was anything else that I needed or should do. The thing that I am most worried about is the RAM, specifically the Vengeance Pro vs the Vengeance. Also I get Windows for free because of Dreamspark and already have a monitor and peripherals.

Here is the writeup:

X79 is not worth it if you're gonna get the 4-core CPU.

Get a i7-4790K with a Z97 board instead as that would be cheaper and perform better.

Sorry forgot the details. Will mostly be used for gaming, programming, movie watching, photo editing, video editing. And yes I would like it to keep it as under $1500 as I can. Also another note, I do have a 2TB HDD for everything else besides the OS and applications.

I just did some quick research and I saw that I do not really NEED the 2011 because I won't be really needing to get that kind of performance. That was one of the places that I wanted to save some money because $215 seems a little steep for a motherboard. Also, the RAM. Like I said in the first post, am I good with the Vengeance Pro or should I drop it down to the Vengeance to save some more money?

As mentioned above, you would be better with an i7 4790K. Those two cpu's are pretty evenly matched and the 1150 boards are usually cheaper to buy than the 2011 boards.

Absolutely. It will be mostly used for gaming, programming, and photo editing and I would like to keep it under $1500. I switched to an 1150 from the 2011 and am down to 1360 something. Thanks in advance for your help.
